B5 is an R&B boy group originating from Atlanta, Georgia. The group consists of Dustin, Kelly, Patrick, Carnell, and Bryan Breeding. B5 was originally known as TNT Boyz, featuring only the four eldest brothers. They renamed themselves B5 when Bryan, the youngest brother, joined the group. The group's name is derived from the initial of the brothers' last name and the number of the siblings. The five boys and their mother Adrian once shared a three-bedroom house with their grandmother, their aunt and nine other cousins. "People think we grew up in the suburbs and were wealthy all our lives," says Kelly. "We had a hard life," says Dustin. "We grew up living off oranges and roman noodles, but we learned to work hard and be thankful because it could have been even worse." Even though those days are long gone, the Breedings have never lost sight of their struggle.
B5 is managed by Jim McMahan of JAMM Entertainment Group. Through McMahan's help, B5 landed an audition with Sean "Diddy" Combs which eventually got them signed to his label Bad Boy Records. Since then, they have become known to a larger audience.
