Greetings! I noticed that you had posted a message to User:Arkyan about map-making; as I am also making maps, I hope you don't mind if I comment. I use MapServer to do it -- specifically, the PHP MapScript module that comes with it (though there are also modules for Perl, Python, et cetera). The software is open-source. It allows one to take shape data from various sources, even if the sources use varying projections, and produce a single layered map in whatever projection you want, and in one of several formats (including PNG and SVG). If you have any questions, let me know. Omnedon (talk) 13:23, 25 December 2007 (UTC)

Revision as of 13:38, 27 December 2007

I am trying to find out when the police department was started. thanks Major Johnson tjohnson@villarica.org

Hi Toney, The library should have a copy of the History of Villa Rica written c. 1970. That would be your best bet. Optimistmb 12:56, 29 May 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Reply to Gospel music suggestion

I would also suggest mentioning Thomas A. Dorsey in the history section. Mr. Dorsey is often refered to as the Father of Gospel Music and is credited with coining the term "gospel" as a reference to this type of music. I was surprised that he wasn't mentioned in the article. Optimistmb (talk) 22:57, 16 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

I know Dorsey was a major figure in the subgenre that became urban contemporary Gospel. Perhaps we should look at his inclusion on that page more so on the Gospel music article. Absolon S. Kent (talk) 14:10, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]
