Sean Lamont (born 15 January 1981 in Perth) is a rugby union player who plays on the wing for Northampton Saints and Scotland. His heros included Jonah Lomu and Matt Harper.

In 2000 Lamont joined Rotherham and was the club’s under-21 captain in 2001. At the 2002 Commonwealth Games he represented Scotland at sevens. In the summer of 2003 he left Rotherham and joined Glasgow Rugby, where he went on to have a very successful first season and cemented himself as a fans' favourite at Hughenden.

Lamont earned his first cap for Scotland against Manu Samoa on their tour in the summer of 2004. On his Murrayfield debut he scored a try against the Australians in the autumn of 2004. In Scotland's 2005 Six Nations Championship match against Italy he was named man of the match. Furthermore,Sean helped the side to an historic victory over the French in the 2006 championship with two tries. His explosive, powerful running and size are his most deadly assets.

In the summer of 2005 Lamont joined Northampton Saints from Glasgow. He scored two memorable tries for Scotland against the hopeful Grand Slam winners (France) in Scotland's six nation stunning 20-16 victory on 5 February 2006 , one of which he joined a ruck and used his strength and power to bundle over the line and take the Scots to victory. Then, 13 days later, he added to his growing reputation by scoring 4 tries in one game against Saracens. Sean Lamont is the first Saints player to achieve this since another Scot, Craig Moir, in 1996. On 26 February 2006, he played a major part in the Scotland squad's victory over England to win the Calcutta Cup by 18 points to 12.

His younger brother Rory Lamont plays on the wing for Sale Sharks.

Sean Lamont was voted The Famous Grouse Player of the Season 2007, narrowly beating Chris Paterson, Simon Taylor and Kelly Brown to the award.

Lamont was picked consistently through the 2007 Six Nations for Scotland. His nicknames are "Schlong" Lamont and Balzak.
