Joel E. McHale (born November 20, 1971) is an American actor and host of The Soup on E! Entertainment Television.

Biography

McHale was born in Rome, Italy, of Irish and Nordic roots [1]. He grew up in the Seattle area, graduating from Mercer Island High School in suburban Seattle in 1990. He received his Bachelor's degree in History from the University of Washington in 1995. While at the University of Washington, McHale belonged to the Theta Chi Fraternity. Before completing the Professional Actors Training Program at the University of Washington, he became part of the Almost Live! cast, a local sketch-comedy TV show produced in Seattle.

Joel and Sarah Williams married on 20 July 1996[2] [3]. They have two sons: Edward Roy(2005) and Isaac(12 March 2008) [4]. Edward underwent open heart surgery at 2 months old and made a full recovery [5]. They moved from Glendale[6] to Los Feliz California to have more room for their second son[7].
