Lukas Podolski (born on June 4, 1985 in Gleiwitz, Schlesien) is a football player. He plays for 1. FC Köln.
Podolski played for Germany at Template:Ec2, where he was the squad's youngest player. He also attended the Fifa Confederations Cup in 2005 and scored 3 goals.
Podolski is plays the position of a striker. He often sneaks back into the midfield to get the ball, then oversprinting his opponents and scoring with a remarkabely cold-blooded finishing touch. As of 2005, he is seen as one of the most promising German players.
Germany coach Jurgen Klinsmann is continously praising him because he is lethal both with the head and with his legs. Because of this, clubs such as the FC Bayern Munchen have manifested their interest in Podolski, though he has a contract with the Köln FC until 2007.
