Cool Hand Luke

History

Cool Hand Luke was formed by Brandon Morgan and Jason Hammil in 1998 at Middle Tennessee State University as a punk rock band and shortly after joined by Mark Nicks.[1] They quickly became known for playing with their backs to the crowd, and lengthy, sensitive songs, and were signed to Floodgate Records in 2002.[1] Following their first two Floodgate releases the band took a hiatus. With their newest release, a "retrospective album", entitled The Balancing Act, Cool Hand Luke have fulfilled their contractual obligations to Floodgate. The album contains songs from their early indie releases as well as their time with Floodgate. They have recently finished another album of new material speculatively titled The Sleeping House, produced by Matt Goldman.

They have also just ended a tour with As Cities Burn from the last few months and are playing many festivals this summer and fall. The band just recently signed with Lujo Records, which will be releasing "The Sleeping House" sometime in 2008.
