Lyndsey Rodrigues is an Australian MTV VJ recently appointed co-host of TRL who is also a model and actor.

Early life

She has 2 siblings, a brother and a sister.

She spent her early childhood living at Willoughby before moving to Greenwich and she describes her childhood as having been "incredibly normal."

Rodrigues said, "I've got no skeletons in the closet. Hopefully I'll acquire some, now that I'm living the life."

Career

Lyndsey was the host of TRL Australia originally.

Rodrigues has become the first Aussie to host TRL in the United States and no aussie has never gone before land a hosting role as a VJ in the United States.

In August 2007, she wowed the show's producers and the head of production at MTV(USA), Tony DiBari as well. "Lyndsey has done an amazing job in Australia and definitely caught our eye here in the States. We were instantly impressed when she co-hosted TRL in summer 2007. She is charismatic, talented, and has an undeniable appeal," he said, after landing the hosting gig on TRL.

Rodrigues will join Damien Fahey as co-host on TRL. Also, she has taken up other hosting duties on MTV for shows such as, "The Big Ten" and "MTV's New Year's Eve 2007."

Her first task on the job was co-hosting MTV's live New Year's Eve 2007 show with Fahey with guest appearances from Perez Hilton and Tila Tequila and performances by Mary J. Blige, Kid Rock, Good Charlotte, Wyclef Jean, Paramore and Boys Like Girls.

Rodrigues will appear occasionally on MTV Australia as a contributor while working in New York where TRL takes place.

"Getting a break in the US is a dream come true and the best part is that I'll still be part of the MTV Australia team at the most exciting time ever for the channel in Oz. I truly have the best of both worlds now," Rodrigues said.

Seventeen magazine representives made an appearance during December 2007 at TRL studios in New York City to meet the new TRL host. On the first day on the job, Will Smith was her first guest and was there to promote his new film, "I Am Legend." Seventeen representives loved his movie and said, "Not bad for a first day!" They sat down with her for an interview to talk about fashion, beauty, and her new gig at MTV after the show. Also, they said, " talk about the perfect getaway! Before returning home, MTV called and said they wanted her as their new host, fulfilling her lifelong dream of living in NYC!"
