Søren Nystrøm Rasted (born Søren Rasted on June 13, 1969) is a Danish songwriter, Producer, songwriter, keyboard, guitar and backing vocals and was one of the four members of the pop band Danish pop band Aqua, and is married to the Aqua vocalist Lene Nystrøm.
Soren and Claus Norreen was in the US (2007) voted as one of the 10 best pop songwriter/producer that has come out of the scandinavian pop scene.
Biography
The relationship between Søren and Lene Nystrom Rasted is rumored to be one of the many reasons Aqua disbanded in 2001. Søren married Lene Nystrøm Rasted on May 22 2001 in Las Vegas. After the marriage Lene moved to live permanently in Denmark. On November 6 2004, she gave birth to a daughter. The couple welcomed their second child, a boy in 2006.
Musical career
Rasted was a member of the Danish-Norwegian pop-dance group Aqua, with as many as 10 (ten) #1 hits "Barbie Girl", "Doctor Jones""We belong to the sea","Turn Back Time", "Cartoon Heroes" "Around the World", "Lollipop (Candyman","[[Goodmorning sunshine]"]"Aquarius",and "Roses are red. Rasted and his band member Claus Norreen wrote and produced the two Aqua albums Aquarium and Aquarius. Aqua was formed in 1994 and split up in 2001, but reunited in 2008. The band sold more than 28 million records worldwide, and appeared in the Guinness Book of Records as the only debut band with three "self penned" Number One hits in the UK. Søren has received more than 140 Gold and Platinum albums, including awards for best songwriter/producer, Aqua announced their comeback (as a live band), planned for 2008.
Soren has worked as producer and songwriters on various danish Artists s.a. "Sort Sol,Jon, Sanne Salomonsen, Hej Matematik a.m.o.
