He is one of the best-known, ecumenical Church musicians is Scotland, and has contributed widely to music and religious hymn writing...and is well-known beyond the bounds of Scotland

I am glad to know that this page was kept. John Bell is quite a name,as will be known to regular listeners of the Radio Four "Thought for the Day" or regular viewers of Songs of Praise; I know him to be linked to the Iona Community,and to me, he is famous enough to warrant his own article.
