Credible author
Hello. A credible authors' reference is being "overrided" by edit-warring. I recently tried to add to the telescope article but this editor seems to think that his opinion overrides a VERY credible author in Mr. Richard Powers. I've been blocked before for edit-warring recently, so I don't want this to be another incident on my record.

Anyway, the other editor seemed to have asked his friend-type editors to form a consensus, so I will do the same. The Islamic connection here is, Al-Haytham. He is FUNDAMENTAL to the telescope and the FATHER of optics. By definition, the summary can include him since the radio and electro-magnetic telescopes are derogatory to the average person looking at the article; I wanted to add it to the history section since it looked cleaner. Can you help your fellow InternetHero?? InternetHero (talk) 21:02, 23 July 2008 (UTC)

Feel free to leave a well-intended message, even if it's a criticism. But if you're going to be snarky, just remember— I don't get paid for this gig and I don't need any grief.

Yeah, some like to practice their novel writing skills here. Have you seen the A Dirty Shame article? Jeez! And this is after a day of trimming! I put all those tags on "that" article, limiting it to 5 at the risk of becoming a "wikihole". Some day we should attack it with quality edits and show 'em how it's done. As funny as it is I really hate for there to be such a terrible page on Wiki.MikP talk 22:29, 9 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I did this rewrite recently I'm sure it could use a lookover. Thanks!MikP talk 21:06, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Don't mean to bother...If you have time for this one too I'd really appreciate it. Thanks.MikP talk 22:24, 13 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Kinky, do you have time for a look over? Perversion (film), The Bloody Exorcism of Coffin Joe not yet but tomorrow: The Strange Hostel of Naked Pleasures Thanks. Mike. MikP talk 17:39, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the changes they are all great. I'm having trouble with cast credits--he is notorious for quickly flashing the actors names on screen without the characters' names, and the web isn't much help! I'm in Auburn so I'm frying too. Both ways. MikP talk 22:40, 15 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry. What a mess and I was wrong. I checked some of my recent edits and noticed I neglected to put Susan Bernard back into the infobox in FPK,K when I re-did it. It's fixed. MikP (WHAT?) 03:24, 23 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Hey K

Due to a formatting error in my clever assed signature, I inadvertently created a new talk page where all my messages have been going for 2 weeks! I am a dink!! Anyhoo I stumbled upon the page when I clicked the talk link in my sig. It's fixed now. I would most definitely buy that Marins set, I've never heard of it. I would just die for it. Is there just one? I'm struggling with The Strange Hostel of Naked Pleasures. Classic trash that's difficult to describe but it's absolutely awesome.

Thanks for the encouragement, it does mean a lot.Mike P (talk) 16:38, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I created stubs for Vincent Peranio and Channing Wilroy, but they are in definite need of expansion.Mike P (talk) 16:47, 28 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Kinky—Bud you just made my day, you are just a trip. I don't know how you want to do it, I'm in Auburn. I'll hide my address at the top of my user page on the edit layer, if that's ok or let me know what you decide. Signed, a very thrilled Mike P (talk) 00:40, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks again K, this is really nice of you.Mike P (talk) 01:19, 29 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]
Got it already. Rather than smother you with cakes of praise and gratitude, I will say that this is just one of the coolest things ever. Thanks. Mike P (talk) 21:04, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

K, Chatty Cathy is still on my watchlist from back then and yesterday I rv'd an unsourced new edit that showed up. Now it's back but I don't know enuf about the subject to challenge it in a conflict.Thanks. MikP (WHAT?) 18:00, 12 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

That was it, I removed it yesterday but the same person put it back today! I'm still enjoying the JMJ set. I love it when (in "Midnight") Joe's wife serves his meatless Good Friday meal and he shouts "Wheres the beef!". And I didn't know Awakening of the Beast was drugsploitation. It's insane. Also get this...on Babel fish "Despertar do Besta" translates as "waking the Interdicted mule" [sic].

Tony: I'm on a temporary userbox kick. I did most of these. If you'd like me to make you one let me know. MikP (WHAT?) 22:32, 23 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Edits to Bound (film)

Hi there, I just saw your recent edits to Bound (film), as it is on my watchlist. You've done a good job (especially on copyediting some of my dubious writing!) but I wonder if I could just make a couple of requests. Firstly, do you think you could maybe make more use of the preview button & combine more of your edits? Looking at the history page for an article and seeing 30 edits in a row... well, my first instinct was "Good grief, what's someone done to the article?!" Of course, then I looked and saw that you've made some really good changes, but the history gets quite clogged when you make loads of small edits in a row. Secondly, could I persuade you to use edit summaries? They are really helpful to other editors. It's not that easy to see some of the changes you've made just looking by comparing the differences. Plus, it makes it a lot easier on people who are patrolling recent changes as they are more likely to suspect vandalism & check an edit out if there is no edit summary. Lastly, could you make sure you only mark edits as minor if they really are minor, and don't change the meaning of a sentence in any way. Taken over all, your edits to the article had more than a superficial effect, yet every one was marked as minor.

Anyway, I hope I don't sound too nitpicky as I realise that you're an experienced editor who does a lot of good round here. It's just that those things I mentioned, particularly edit summaries, really help out other editors. Oh and by the way, I removed the flagicon you added per Manual of Style (flags) and numerous discussions at the Film Wikiproject. All the best, --BelovedFreak 16:20, 26 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Do you like this? I still need to tweak it some, thinking of a good font for the RM.

Hi

OMFG, the Penryn article sounds like a 6th grade school report. I'll fix it up. Feel free to use any of my userboxes if you like them. M. MikP (wots all this, then?) 20:44, 18 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]
