Khattab (Arabic: خطاب) is a name derived from the word "sermon" (Khatib). The most prominent person carrying the name is Umar ibn al-Khattab, the second Sunni Caliph, the son of Khattab ibn Nufayl. "Al-Khattab" means "the sermon-giver".
