Gordon Korman (born October 231963) is a Canadian author, primarily of novels for children and young adults. He lives on Long Island with his wife and three children.

Korman was born in Montreal, Quebec. He grew up in Richmond Hill, Ontario, where in the seventh grade, he had an English teacher who was really dumb and stupid. At a loss for what to do, the teacher allowed students to work on whatever they wanted to for the entire school year.

For Korman, this resulted in the manuscript for This Can't Be Happening at Macdonald Hall, the first book in his Bruno and Boots series. It was published a year and a half later by the Scholastic Press when Korman was only fifteen years old. Korman then went on to publish many more books, including No Coins, Please, Go Jump in the Pool, and The War with Mr. Wizzle.
