Tetsujin
This article blows. It's nothing but information on the "Gigantor" dub with small bits of Tetsujin sprinkled around. Several other people have voiced their opinions about this (in 2006, I might add), yet nothing has been done about this. Either Tetsujin and Gigantor should get seperate articles, or, this article should be renamed "Tetsujin 28" and have "Gigantor" as a sub-section. As one poster commented "IRONMAN28 AND GIGANTOR OR AS DIFFERENT AS MIGHTY MORPHIN' POWER RANGERS AND ZYURANGER". —Preceding unsigned comment added by Cabbage-Sama (talk • contribs) 12:55, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

New Article

Hey, guys! There's a Tetsujin article now! We'd better start adding stuff before it gets deleted.

—Preceding unsigned comment added by Cabbage-Sama (talkcontribs) 12:55, 7 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed. The Giant Robo article is called "Giant Robo" and not "Johnny and his flying Robot", and the Mazinger Z article isn't called "Tranzor Z". This article should be renamed Tetsujin 28, I've got no idea how to do it though. Geshpenst (talk) 13:02, 9 July 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Tetsujin 28-go info

I have two suggestions: 1. Separate pages for Tetsujin 28-go and Gigantor should be established, or 2. The main article should center around Tetsujin and feature Gigantor as a section. I'd like to know a lot more about the original Japanese show, and there is the fact that Geneon has started to release the 2004 Tetsujin 28-go series in North America with the original Japanese names intact. The Trashman 20:34, 14 February 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I second this; either way is good. In addition to the 2004 series, the live-action version has also been released here as "Tetsujin 28". Evan1975 21:55, 26 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I´d like to point that there is a definite connection between Tetsujin and Giant Robo - something that is only hinted at on the article. Yokoyama was the author of both mangas. It is also worthy of note that the first featured a gladiator helmet on its head, whereas Giant Robot had its famous egiptian sphinx head.

I 4TH THIS. IRONMAN28 AND GIGANTOR OR AS DIFFERENT AS MIGHTY MORPHIN' POWER RANGERS AND ZYURANGER

This is a rather old request, but I would like to propose it again. While Gigantor's effect on American versions of anime is important, it's also important that the source material be documented with equal quality, not ignored in favor of its exported version. Rebochan 19:20, 24 May 2007 (UTC) I agree. Can someone split these?71.126.192.8 18:31, 5 August 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Go ahead and do it; I don't know enough about the subject (especially the Gigantor dub) to really do it myself. Hill of Beans (talk) 22:40, 27 November 2007 (UTC)[reply]

gun to firearm

I changed the word gun to firearm in the sentence "Jimmy usually wears shorts and a jacket, and even carries a gun." I changed it voth for professional and link purposes. Gun is different from Firearm in professional use and I'm trying to make this as professional as possible, this as in wikipedia. It is even said that gun is often a word used for firearm but gun redirects to the heavy artillery and firearm redirects to the handheld , well firearm. I dont know if the word gun is used in the series, but if it is and this word seems more approprite then change it back but add a redirection to the link. user:Tyler Thibeaux

I'm catching up on Gigantor thanks to Adult Swim. In the end credits it includes "Based on characters created by Mitsuteru Yokoyama and Mary Shelley." Did they mean Mary "Frankenstein" Shelley? (Major props to Fred Ladd and company if they did!) --RevWaldo 02:05, 5 August 2006 (UTC)[reply]

It is possible. I think I seen the same episode and was wonderin something similar. I was watching the one with the Fang monster being free from jail and realized that the credits were filled with american names. So I checked here to see why.

Seems like they put Mary Shelley's name because of that Fang character and to make the anime more "american"?--69.236.85.188 13:04, 26 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Gigantor episode list

I'm new to wikipedia so I hope I've done this right. I found a episode list on Anime News Network at http://www.animenewsnetwork.com/encyclopedia/anime.php?id=1293&page=25. I don't know if it's right or wrong but Cartoon Network seems to be following this list so I'm guessing it's right.

___ The L.A. punk rock band the Dickies made a song about gigantor called 'Gigantor'. Maybe that should be mentioned in the trivia section or something.

Excessive subjective descriptions

Example: In the 'Secret Valley' section, the sentence, "The dubbing team tried to imitate the Australian English phonology but did not come close.", might be true, but was written without reference or proof, so it is a personal observation.

The entire Gigantor article is written in a similar fashion, and should be modified in its entirety, at least in my subjective opinion. I edited a couple of such problem areas, but found it to be a daunting task (I'm not as young as I used to be!). —Preceding unsigned comment added by Skaizun (talkcontribs) 14:17, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Original research

The plot and symbolism section contains unsourced claims, possibly original research. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 87.18.172.76 (talk) 08:00, 18 June 2008 (UTC)[reply]
