Kristie Lu Stout (born December 7, 1974) is an American journalist and news anchor for CNN International.
Biography
Stout graduated from Lynbrook High School in San Jose, California, where she was a founding member of the Lynbrook Speech and Debate Club (LSD), and worked as a model in her teens.[1] She received a bachelor's degree and a master's degree in media studies from Stanford University. She also studied advanced Mandarin Chinese at Tsinghua University in Beijing.[2]
As of 2007, Stout, who recently had a baby and is off air now, is the former host of CNN's monthly program Global Office, and used to co-host the daily CNN Today with Hugh Riminton, which earned her a 2006 Asian Television Award as Best News Presenter or Anchor.[3] Stout previously hosted CNN's technology program Spark and their daily "Tech Watch" segment, wrote the "Beijing Byte" column for the South China Morning Post, was an editorial staffer at Wired.com[2] and a founding member of Sohu.
Stout lives in Hong Kong and is married to attorney Seung Chong.[1]
