Thank you for the Barnstar!

Thank you Spinboy for the Barnstar. It's my first one! Very much appreciated. Maltmomma (chat) 19:41, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

AfD

I have restored the AfDs which Snowspinner arbitrarily and inappropriately deleted. Could you please go back and re-cast your votes? User:Zoe|(talk) 22:14, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

See his comments at the bottom of WP:ANI. User:Zoe|(talk) 22:17, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of Pierra L. J. Vincent et al. AfD pages

I've restored the page to its undeleted version so that all the previous votes and discussion is there. Hope you don't mind. Yours, --Blackcap | talk 22:24, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Replied here. --Blackcap | talk 22:40, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Snowspinner

We can start wth Wikipedia:Requests for comment/User conduct#Use of administrator privileges and then move on to WP:RFAr. User:Zoe|(talk) 22:45, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I was just going to wait to see if he repeats his behavior, and if he does, then file it. If you want to do it now, go ahead and start and I'll endorse it. User:Zoe|(talk) 22:51, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Me too. I'm going to be signing off soon, so I'll see you tomorrow. --Blackcap | talk 23:08, 2 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

I have asked Snowspinner to freely give up his sysop rights here. If he declines, I will initiate an RfC. --Blackcap | talk 04:01, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hehe, thanks. Saw it and thought it was a good idea, though there are more localized American cell operators... its going to be big... --Romeo Bravo =/\= 03:15, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dunno, actualy not too bad of an idea, instead of the bf comming down here :p --Romeo Bravo =/\= 04:07, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Dost thou love me? I know thou wilt say 'Ay,' and I will take thy word; yet if thou swearest, thou mayst prove false; at lovers' perjuries they say Jove laughs. O gentle Romeo, if thou dost love, pronounce it faithfully. --Romeo Bravo =/\= 04:36, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome. --YCCHAN 03:18, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Certifying RfCs

As a bit of unsolicited advice from someone who's pushed a lot of dispute resolutions through, you're the wrong person to certify an RfC against me. Get one of the other people who debated me on AN/I to do it. TBSDY would be the best choice, as he has a lot of respect - so would Uncle G. But you'd be a bad choice, and you'd make it look like sour grapes, as you didn't actualyl try to resolve the dispute with me.

Up to you, though. Just saying, not how I'd prosecute me, were I trying. Snowspinner 04:21, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Just saying. If I'm going to be raked across the coals, I'd like to see it done well. :) Snowspinner 04:38, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
Well done steaks are even ickier than deletionists. Snowspinner 04:41, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hello: I've created the RfC here: Wikipedia:Requests for comment/Snowspinner 2. I agree with Snowspinner though, he does have a point; so perhaps sign under endorsing it? It's nothing against you at all, but it will look better if either TBSDY, Calton or Zoe certify it, and I've asked TBSDY and Zoe to do so. I hope you understand, I wouldn't be the right person to certify it either, I'm just not know around here as well as them, or respected. All the best, --Blackcap | talk 06:45, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Replied here. --Blackcap | talk 20:09, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks. --Blackcap | talk 20:13, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It's only been about 12 hours since it was created, though. Zoe hasn't even seen it, neither have a lot of the people on AN/I debating him. I'm not worried about it. --Blackcap | talk 20:20, 3 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the info

Hey, thanks for the intro links, they look like they'll be handy. :-) --Furlong 03:21, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the welcome

I hope I don't mess this up, I just started reading some guidelines and I realized my latest comments were a bit too harsh. I'll edit them to something nicer shortly. Thanks for the welcome! Knave75 05:08, 4 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Notability deletions

I noticed that you nominated both Pierre L. J. Vincent and Tom Freda for deletion on the grounds of notability. I point out that Wikipedia:Deletion policy has nothing about notability, and that an attempt to add notability as a deletion criteria failed to generate consensus. Furthermore, I point out that the deletion policy specifically states that articles that are "Such a minor branch of a subject that it doesn't deserve an article" should be merged, not deleted.

In light of this, I ask you to reconsider your practice of making nominations on these grounds - instead consider the verifiability, vanity, and dicdef policies, which I think can be used to delete about 90% of the crap that gets nominated for deletion. Hi Spinboy,

For the Template:MobilePhoneNetworks a 'region' category is based on continent (North America) or a well defined area (Asia Pacific). Canada may be big, but it clearly belongs to the North America section with the US. If you wish to lobby for a different layout scheme on the template please do so on the template's talk page. WP:CP

Hi, you've reported copyright infringements to WP:CP in the last week, a new measure was recently passed to allow the speedy deltion of new pages that are cut and paste copyvios. Please follow these instructions if you come across this type of copyvio. Thanks. --nixie 00:28, 6 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Blatant copyright infringements may now be "speedied"

If an article and all its revisions are unquestionably copied from the website of a commercial content provider and there is no assertion of permission, ownership or fair use and none seems likely, and the article is less than 48 hours old, it may be speedily deleted. See CSD A8 for full conditions.

After notifying the uploading editor by using wording similar to:

{{nothanks-sd|pg=page name|url=url of source}} -- ~~~~

Blank the page and replace the text with

{{db-copyvio|url=url of source}}

to the article in question, leaving the content visible. An administrator will examine the article and decide whether to speedily delete it or not.

depopulating categories prior to Cfd

Please do not depopulate and orphan categories prior to or during a Cfd. Reguarding these edits [1], [2], [3]. This gives a false impression of the category, and users might assume it was not in use. Especially in cases where it is a keep, and we have to go through your contrib history to restore the category. Thank you. Who?¿? 02:25, 7 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Favor requested re: Freemasonry Arbitration

Could you do me a favor and compile a list of articles where Lightbringer is slipping in unnecessary anti-Masonic references or causing other editing problems and notify people on those respective talk pages about the arbitration here regarding Lightbringer and enquire as to if they would like to make a statement? I feel that it needs to be done by a semi-neutral party (though Dreamguy seems to have a good idea of what else Lightbringer is doing, so you might want to ask him for assistance). MSJapan 01:56, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

That was quick. Thanks! MSJapan 02:26, 9 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Greetings

Thanks ever so much for your kind words. I am hardly new to wikipedia however though my talk page is pretty much a not used resource. As to the tildes thing. Its the first time I have heard a request the date NOT be included as a general rule people have indicated to me they want to know when a conversation has occured and so four tildes has beenm the norm. Never the less... since you asked nicely here at least I signoff -Falerin

Hey, Spinboy!

Thanks for the links. I'm trying to wheel and deal to save a little info. that I posted on Star Wars and an article I didn't have time to update. I am an avid Pendragon fan and am trying to get the oficial site behind my "Wikipedia/Pendragon Project". See you around and hope to talk! User:Penman the Egyptian

Freemasonry reversion done

I did a two-for by going to my summary version, then I took out section 7 again before saving it. MSJapan 06:42, 16 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Just a joke

Sorry, friend. Wasn't meant as an attack. Didn't mean to hurt your feelings. Meant to be funny as per Bob & Doug McKenzie. Hence my keep, eh vote.

Spinboy, have you actually read the article that you stuck an AfD tag on? If so, could you explain why you're asking for the article to be deleted? Is there a good reason for this? --Tony SidawayTalk 01:46, 17 October 2005 (UTC)[reply]
