Someone needs to make this clear. The general reader cannot be expected to have read these books and understand this. If they did, there'd be no reason to consult the entry. Nightscream (talk) 13:59, 14 August 2008 (UTC)

Um there has been no confirmation that Allen is dead. Also, it is clear and fine to someone who didn't read that much such as I. Quit being a nitpicky bunch of children, or else you are going to ruin this page like the people who have stifled the plot section of Final Crisis for 4 months, which is the most irritating thing I have ever experienced. It is fine, nothing has to be perfect, just let it go. 98.27.190.112 (talk) 05:04, 13 January 2009 (UTC)

Clarification

The Spectre and Countdown sections require a few points to be clarified for the uninitiated. Among them:

 • The first paragraph describes how Allen is transformed into the Spectre in Infinite Crisis #4. But then in the next paragraph, it says, "In the first issue of Infinite Crisis Aftermath: The Spectre, "Dead Again Part One", the Spectre confronts Crispus Allen. He has come to realize that he needs a host to humanize him in order to know what his mission really means. Allen refuses his request, wanting no further involvement in the Spectre's vigilante work." How can the Spectre confront Allen, or Allen refuse his request, or want not further involvement with him, if he's now bonded to the Spectre? And if he was no longer bonded with the Spectre at this point? How did they come to be separated? And in what venue did Spectre "confront" him? Was Allen now in hell, purgatory, or heaven, and the Spectre went there to talk to him? The following paragraph says that the Spectre left Allen for a year, and Allen sees he cannot interact with living people. Is this an indication that Allen was a ghost/spirit? If so, an elaboration on this point would be apt.
 • The section then describes how Allen again bonds with the Spectre, when he "takes the offer". It then says, "Using Allen's own son, Mal, whom he says must be killed for his homicide of Corrigan, as an example, the Spectre proceeds to explain the point set during Hal Jordan's tenure as the Spectre. Allen accepts the task. This final notion leads Allen to embrace fully the role of moral anchor of the Spectre." What does this mean? Killed for his homicide of Corrigan? Whose homicide of Corrigan? Corrigan is dead now? When and where did this happen? Shouldn't this have been mentioned? Using Mal as an example? An example of what? The Spectre explains the point set during Jordan's tenure as the Spectre? What "point set" was this? Shouldn't this be a bit elaborated on? Allen embraces fully the moral anchor of the Spectre? What does this mean? Hasn't the section already explained that Allen accepted his role as the Spectre (like, twice now)? Now he's doing so a third time?
 • In the next section, it says, "In Countdown To Mystery, Allen and the Spectre, accompanied by the spirit of a criminal they killed" Okay, so Allen and the Spectre are now two separate people again? And this would be what, the second time that they're separated? Again, when did this happen?

Someone needs to make this clear. The general reader cannot be expected to have read these books and understand this. If they did, there'd be no reason to consult the entry. Nightscream (talk) 13:59, 14 August 2008 (UTC)[reply]
