Rafe Champion (born July 1945) is an Australian writer. He was born in the Australian state of Tasmania, and grew up on a farm in the northern part of that state, near Irishtown. He studied agricultural science at the University of Tasmania in Hobart, then went to the University of Adelaide for postgraduate study before moving to Sydney.

Champion's main interest is in bringing to wider attention the works of the Austrian philosopher Karl Popper, the Austrian economist Friedrich Hayek, and he is regarded as one of the world's leading experts on Popper. He has lectured at universities around the world on Popper and his philosophy of [critical rationalism]. He is also a contributor to Troppo Armadillo and Catallaxy, two collaborative blogs based in Australia.

Champion has written a number of nonfiction books, two of them collaborations with his mother in law, Ruth Park.
