Cross-platform added

I beleive that becuase it is such an big feature of the controllers that I added the section about how the controller can be userd on a PC as well as the new device that allows wireless controllers to work on a PC

Sony Flash Drives

I don't think Sony flash drives work, or at least mine didn't and it's up to date.

HD-DVD

In reading the article, I can't work out what the advantage would be to using an external HD-DVD drive through the X-Box 360, as opposed to simply connecting an HD-DVD drive directly to the TV or receiver. The Xbox 360 does all of the video and audio processing. So the HD DVD drive cannot be connected to a TV and work alone. It needs to be connected to something that will process the video and audio signal and then can output it. Either an XBox 360, or a PC. VGA Cable

I think VGA signals usually have one or two separate wires for a synchronisation signal - in the case of component this synchronisation signal is combined onto the three connections - so the answer is probably no - though in some cases (probably rare) the answer might be yes. The signals ( RGB and VGA) are quite similar in the way they send the data and so not much difference in quality between the two (both quite good). It all depends on your monitor/tv - you might get a fuller answer at Wikipedia:Reference desk/Computing - though from my own research it seems that for this to work the xbox would have to output a sync on green signal when using VGA - I guess this isn't the case.87.102.84.170 15:12, 13 April 2007 (UTC)

Compatibility stuff worth mentioning

1. Is the Xbox 360 HD DVD Player compatible with 360 Elite? 2. Is the Xbox Fishing Rod Controller compatible with Xbox 360? 3. Is Rapala Pro Fishing for Xbox compatible with abovementioned fishing reel controller on Xbox 360? 4. Is The House of the Dead III for Xbox and light guns compatible with Xbox 360 and big screen TVs?

Re-arranged article

I made several changes to the article just now - although the page may look very different no information was removed. Here's the changes I made if anyone is curious:

New Sections-

• AV Connection, Universal Remote, and HD DVD Player are now under a "Media" section. Someone could come up with a better name for this.
• The headset and vision camera and network adapter are now under an "Xbox Live" accessories section.
• I also moved the Chatpad accessory under controller section since that's what it relates to (plugs into the bottom of one).

Re-arranging - Previously the accessories seemed to be listed in a random order. I moved them together where possible - the universal media remote is now listed right under the HD DVD drive for example. Faceplates are least important/popular and don't relate to anything so I moved it to the bottom. In the controllers section I moved the actual accessories to the top, and the note on cross-platform compatibility to the bottom of the section.

Introduction of third party assessories

Reading the first sentence of the article got me thinking. There are many alternatives to the accessories listed here and also no third party accessories are mentioned like the intercoolers. They too are accessories arent they??. If anyone has any objections or suggestions let me know or in a few days I will add some of the third party accessories to this page. I think we should list only first party (official Microsoft) accessories - the way it is now the page is too big and it's confusing having them mixed in. Article needs major work...

This article looks like someone got lazy and just copied-and-pasted the advertisements from the accessories directly into the page. Controller soundcard

Has anyone been able to find any information on the soundcard that's built into the regular Xbox 360 (Wireless) Controller? I suppose with the plug-and-play-ness it doesn't matter much on the Xbox 360, but it is interesting for when it's connected to a PC. I'm assuming it works like any other USB headset, but have no idea about the brand of soundcard, sound quality, stereo capabilities, et cetera. Voltage

Rechargable battery pack: It is recommended in place of disposable AA batteries (which differ slightly in voltage).

NiMH Rechargeable AAs: Simple rechargeable NiMH AA batteries are the exact same voltage as the battery pack available from Microsoft. In fact, all that is in the battery pack are two 1800mAh AA cells giving up to 1800 mAh at 2.4v.[citation needed] On the other hand, two 2500mAh rechargeable AAs in the standard battery holder will give up to 2500mAh @ 2.4v, lasting approximately 50% longer.[citation needed] A charger with 4 x 2500mAh AAs can be purchased for $20, which gives the ability to power two controllers, or one controller while another set is always charged, for the same price as a Microsoft "Play and Charge" kit.

Looks like someone had a bit of a fight on the article; but I'm not sure whether real batteries and the pack have the same voltage, so I can't fix it.

hd dvd article

I have nominated the seperate article for deletion. There wasnt very much information that wasnt included on here, and as it has been discontinued there is no way it will become a long page. I think it should be separated again as the page is getting too long as it is. It should be a paragraph or two explaining what it is and how it is used. It was to long in the first place and went into to much detail that should be kept in its own article. If it becomes purely a list as you described above, this infringes Wikipedia's policy. Articles such as the HD DVD player, that will not need any expanding due to discontination or a set standard (such as the remotes once a picture is uploaded), need to stay in this article to avoid the above problem. Also, the reason it was 'merged', was the fact that the article regarding HD DVD that already existed on this page was very long and contained a lot of information. Well now its different. The information provided on this page is now all that's needed to know what it is. Too early for "Newton" Controller mention

I don’t think word of the Newton controller project should go in the article until there is official confirmation and details from Microsoft.

It is way too early and we have to wait for it to become official. Same thing with the 60-Gig hard drive and future motherboards (Jasper, Opus and Valhalla).

blu ray player

headset only does voice

It seems important to note that while the out-of-the-box headset is convenient, it only supports voice communication. To hear music and sound effects, another peripheral is needed. It's not always practical (and kind to neighbors) to crank up the home theater to hear every footfall--headphones sure would be nice. The only headset I could find that supports game music/sounds and voice communication is the Tritton AX360 (USD 100.00). Game sounds are particularly important for first-person shooters, where it pays to be able to hear an opponent sneaking up behind you. Meonkeys (talk) 04:40, 18 October 2008 (UTC)

New Standard Headsets

The article states that "It should be noted that standard Xbox 360 wired headsets cannot connect to the chatpad due to the lack of the side pins". However, I purchased a 60GB "Pro" edition of the 360 and the headset that it came with had the in-line mute/volume features, making it exactly the same as that which comes with the chatpad. Could someone verify and change this?
