Jason Mesnick (born July 5, 1976) is the runner-up on Season 4 of The Bachelorette and the Bachelor of the 13th season of the reality dating show The Bachelor.
Bio
Mesnick is a native of Cleveland, Ohio. He is of Croatian and Ashkenazi Jewish descent. He moved to Washington at the age of eight and received his BA in psychology at the University of Washington.
Since his 2006 divorce from Hilary Buckholz-Monrean, he has raised his son, Ty, as a single father. Mesnick is an account executive in estate and legacy planning, and is a "big brother" for the Big Brothers/Big Sisters of America.
He dated DeAnna Pappas on The Bachelorette and was one of the final two suitors, even bending his knee to propose in the final rose ceremony before DeAnna stopped him. Instead Pappas chose Jesse Csincsak. Mesnick was chosen to be the next Bachelor, however, and although the new season was still airing, he said that he did find love on ABC’s reality dating series. “I’m engaged!” Mesnick said. “I found exactly what I was hoping for, what I was looking for. I’m completely in love.”[1]
