The Samounis/Zeitoun article

I think it was you who expressed interest in what happened in Zeitoun, right? I wanted to let you know that I am writing an article on it User:Falastine_fee_Qalby/Zeitoun_tragedy, and I would appreciate advice. Anything to avoid it getting deleted the first day. --Falastine fee Qalby (talk) 19:36, 9 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I'm really sorry for the late reply Falastine. I wish I can help soon, but I have a pile of UN reports that needs to be compiled so I can update the "Effects of the conflict" article. It wasn't me who specifically expressed interest in this part I guess. But go on, I may jump in as soon as I finish the other sections I started. Good luck. :). --Darwish07 (talk) 13:57, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
The article is quite impressive, it looks like the work of 10 editors, good work. Please continue working on it and don't let yourself get caught up with any other project (including the one I am son) since this one, I think, is the most important. سلام --Falastine fee Qalby (talk) 20:06, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you for the barnstar

Sometimes arguments on this talk page feel like entering the wrong room. I really appreciate it. I'm sure that with time the article will balance itself and unverified data will no longer be included. This conflict inflicts a great suffering on people on both sides of the border and sometimes light in the end of violence tunnel in not in sight. I'm sure that you'd like to see Wikipedia as source of encyclopedic knowledge. I'd appreciate if you take some time and address points I made by improving the article. AgadaUrbanit (talk) 22:33, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome :-). Yes I agree, and I hope there will be peace at the end of this black tunnel. I don't follow you, what is the points that needs to be addressed? --Darwish07 (talk) 13:32, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
I'm talking about resting parrot :) AgadaUrbanit (talk) 18:22, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
It seems that some of the debates in the latest Gaza war article resemble the talks in that video ;-) --Darwish07 (talk) 21:40, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Edit summaries?

I realy have no idea what you where talking about omiting edit summaries. I have been editing the way I have on Wikipedia for two and a half years and nobody ever said something like that to me. Actualy, I have no idea what the word omit means. But I checked those two edits you said I made, and yes I made them but there was nothing strange about those two edits, they were normal.BobaFett85 (talk) 23:56, 11 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Boba, chill. Nothing is wrong with your edits themselves; I just asked very politely to include edit summaries with your edits, as it is always recommended. This makes it easy to know the edits without having to generate diffs and so on. Especially on sensitive articles such as the ones related to the Israel-Arab conflict, this is critical. --Darwish07 (talk) 13:45, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A joke

I heard this joke a long time ago, thought you might like it:
Two friends, Asem and Ahmed, were going to report for the army in Cairo. They get up to the clerk taking down names. Asem goes first, the clerk asks him 'ismak ey?'. Asem says 'Asem'. The clerk says back to him 'La, ismak Kasem!' Next is Ahmed, who heard all this. When the clerk asked him 'ismak ey' Ahmed responds 'Kahmed'.
Thought you might like, Salam Nableezy (talk) 20:11, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hehe, I liked it. Completely true, soldiers in any military service are usually treated like pawns with no brains, and that's the result ;-). --Darwish07 (talk) 21:17, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
And there's no need to tell you the horribleness of the now void Egyptian army. I know some people there and I hear weird stories about its budget. I've ruined the joke and took it very seriously, sorry :). --Darwish07 (talk) 21:25, 12 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Good editors

Yo, Cptnono is a good editor in my opinion, he does have a pro-Israel slant but he seems to be a good guy and a good editor. I know it is hard sometimes to not group everybody arguing together, but I do suggest you read some editors comments in a different light from some of the more inane ones that are being made, he always has good points and hasnt shown himself to be at all unreasonable, so akhi, and with all due respect because I think you know a lot more about this stuff than me, bes haddi nafsik shawi. Salam ya khoui, Nableezy (talk) 07:59, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

I calmed down, really :-). Not to be an apologist, but unfortunately sometimes the effect of useless debates spills to the good ones. I'll be more careful. I also have high respect for Agada and Cptnono, they're understandable and have shown very good intentions too. Shokran 3al advice. --Darwish07 (talk) 12:19, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for the message Darwish and the nice words Nableezy. We are not always going to agree but no worries. It is easy for editors who favor either side to see POV when it isn't really there and get to get bogged down in debate instead of discussion.Cptnono (talk) 17:47, 13 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Just too follow-up on how cool I am, I commented on your comment on my page per your above mention on it (I totally screwed up, by the way). Also, don't worry about me reverting a revert. I try to stay away from that.Cptnono (talk) 03:23, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]
hehe, I see :). --Darwish (talk) 13:15, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks

for the barnstar! --Cerejota (talk) 08:17, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You're welcome. I really like your hardwork. --Darwish (talk) 13:16, 14 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

username Darwish07 vs Darwish

Did you know that you can switch your username to Darwish at this page? All the signatures you've made that say Darwish07 will still forward here. I think this would clear up the confusion that can result when someone comes to this page, clicks User contributions and sees nothing.

You're right, I wished to do this username switch from a long time. I'll request this change once my "wikibreak" ends. Thanks for the note. --Darwish (talk) 00:56, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

P.S. I don't know you; I have edited the Darwish article a bit and became curious if there might be a user with that name as well. Soap Talk/Contributions 02:02, 27 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

You took part in a previous discussion about that articles name, therefore you might be interested in Talk:2008 South Ossetia war#Article name vote. --Xeeron (talk) 17:43, 7 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks a lot Xeeron for the notification; I'm going to vote now. --Darwish (talk) 02:35, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Done. --Darwish (talk) 03:06, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
Np, glad you took the time. Not everyone agrees, but I feel it is important to get outside editors to comment on controversial topics. --Xeeron (talk) 16:40, 9 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
HistoricWarrior believes that people who don't know what "South Ossetia War" is are "ignorant", "clueless", and "from countries where media is rapidly anti-Russian". I was just giving an outsider view with an honest good intent; I don't and won't reply to his illusive conspiracy-theoretic mind. --Darwish (talk) 00:49, 11 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]
