Personal life

John-Paul Lee was born on October 12, 1978 in Fairfax, Virginia and raised in Great Falls, Virginia. He also spent 5 years of his childhood living in Seoul, Korea.

John-Paul currently resides in New York City but travels frequently to Seoul, Korea where he is in the process of expanding Tavalon Tea.

Tavalon Tea

Founding

In 2005, John-Paul Lee was sitting in Covent Garden in London, drinking a Caffe Latte. As he looked at the people around him, he noted that all of them- folks both young and old, from all different walks of life- were not sharing in his coffee-drinking experience, but instead enjoying tea. As an American, used to the frenetically fast-paced life coffee chains have inspired, this struck him as unusual, but amazing. Upon returning to the States, Lee brought the seed of inspiration of tea with him, quit his corporate job, and set off to bring the seed to fruition.
