"Gimme the Loot"
Song

"Gimme the Loot" is the third track from The Notorious B.I.G.'s highly successful debut album Ready to Die, released on September 13, 1994. The song depicts what sounds like two people talking about a robbery (hence the title name) but is really rapped by Biggie himself. The words "pregnant" and "strangled" are censored on the album version. The uncensored version can be found on DJ Semi's mixtape "Ready to Die: The OG Version". The song was featured in the biographical film Notorious. The track is notable for Biggie rapping in two distinct voices, with Biggie playing his usual self with his usual style, and the other character having a distinct, higher-pitched tone. They are distinct enough for the track to initially sound as if it had two rappers on it. The chorus of the song was sang temporarily by Will Smith in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, when he and Carlton go to Las Vegas.
