Banbi (半臂) - casual wear for women

Banbi (半臂, lit. half arm) is the traditional Chinese attire (hanfu) for women. It is a form of casual outer wear in Ming Dynasty. It is adopted from Central Asian clothing during Tang Dynasty (during which foreign fashion were popular amongst Chinese) through the Silk Road.[1][2] It is worn over ruqun, and has half-length sleeves and parallel (straight) collars (對襟). It can be secured at the front either with ties or a metal button.
