Shante Anthony Franklin (born April 4, 1981), better known by his stage name Curren$y, is an American rapper from New Orleans, Louisiana. As a teenager, he was a member of Master P's No Limit Records until 2005[1], when he signed with Lil Wayne's Young Money Entertainment, where he remained until 2007. After leaving Young Money Entertainment, Curren$y created Fly Society along with skateboarder Terry Kennedy[2]. After releasing numerous independent mixtapes, he has realeased an album entitled This Aint No Mixtape his debut album.
