How does speedy deletion work?

{{adminhelp}} When I signed up and created an account for Wikipedia, it said, don't use your personal name, so I used my company name. I did not intend to be self promotional. You have listings for the New Living Bible, why not a listing for a New Living Magazine? My content is worthy of perusal. I am not trying to sell anything since the publication is freely distributed. The article has already been deleted, with the reason, "Unambiguous advertising or promotion". The policy that we have all decided about that sort of thing is in WP:CSD.

I am truly sorry I didn't meet your requirements and the self-promotion wasn't intentional. It was meant to be informational. You list other publications in your search terms. Was it that I did not follow your formatting guidelines? Also, since you blocked my IP address which is kind of a drastic punishment, how am I supposed to correct the error so I can get myself properly listed like the other publications in your encyclopedia??

PS is there any reason why the initial administrator who blocked my account blocked me "indefinitely?" I read that the initial administrator can stick with this decision indefinitely? What recourse is there then to correct my mistake? Newlivingmagazine (talk) 01:02, 1 June 2009 (UTC)

{{helpme}} I don't know why you suggest I contact User:Juliancolton to appeal to this person to have my indefinite block removed when I can't even reach them. Apparently, they blocked me from contacting them to appeal my indefinite block. I have been listed as the same kind of unsavory characters in this administrator's indefinite block list as if I am some kind of criminal or something. Kind of harsh, don't you think? As a reviewing administrator, may I ask how you intend to contribute to Wikipedia in a manner that isn't contrary to our Wikipedia:Conflict of interest policy? From what you've written here so far, it seems unlikely that you have any intention of contributing to the encyclopedia instead of just writing about your own publication. First, I wanted to list New Living Magazine as a reference source for people interested in health and fitness resources as I see "Muscle and Fitness" and some other health and fitness related publications do. Obviously, I did not read all the formatting rules and regulations and sincerely apologize for that. After posting the reference to New Living Magazine, I intended on contributing copyright free content since I have been a health and fitness editor/writer for almost 20 years; I have a wealth of knowledge on a wide range of timely health and fitness related topics that would be extremely valuable to other Wikipedia users once I got the hang of creating articles. Seriously, I meant no blatant self-promotion. I would appreciate it if you could see past my error and see that I actually have lots of good material to contribute to the Wikipedia community. Anyway, New Living Magazine both print and web versions are free, just like Wikipedia. That should speak for itself. We're on the same page here. Can you please consider "indefinitely" unblocking my account so that I can start over starting with a new username, etc.? I meant no harm and it won't happen again. Thanks. PS, I read your "conflict of interest" page and totally understand where you're coming from and how submitting certain kinds of material to Wikipedia can cause problems, so I know what and what not to do. For example, I wanted to contribute an article on "Colloidal Silver" and its "Health Benefits" in relation to helping to fight the "Swine Flu" and had reseaarch articles to cite on the subject. You should create a new, personal account and forget about this one. I recommend that you disclose the fact that you are affiliated with New Living on your new User page, and/or just avoid doing edits that could be seen as promotional for New Living (the way I'd go). It is definitely allowed for you to create a new account, especially if your old username could have been seen as promotional. Add the {{helpme}} template back to this page if you need help in doing this. Regarding collodial silver, I'd suggest that you ensure that you review the guidelines at Wikipedia:Verifiability as that is a very controversial topic and the quality of the sources will have to be very high. That's what my cry for help is all about. Thanks for the feedback on colloidal silver you are right on that, but I do have some reliable unbiased scientific studies I can reference.
