Canes pugnaces (Pl) or Canis pugnax (Sing) is a Latin phrase, which means dogs of war, war dogs or fighting dogs.[1][2][3][4][5] Some of the Roman Canes pugnaces include the English Mastiff, Molosser, Neapolitan Mastiff and Pugnaces Britanniae.
