The ninth season of Degrassi: The Next Generation is set to premiere October 4, 2009^[2] in Canada. Season 9 began production on May 19, 2009.^[3] Although it will air during the 2009–2010 TV season, it depicts the second semester of the 2007–2008 school year because season eight occurred during the first semester of the 2007–2008 school year.
