The Strange Boys are a four-piece band based out of Austin, Texas, comprised of the members Ryan Sambol (Guitar, Vocals), Philip Sambol (Bass), Greg Enlow (Guitar), and Matt Hammer (Drums). Their music incorporates stylistic elements of garage rock, punk, R&B and country.[1] The group have been compared to acts such as Chuck Berry, England's Newest Hit Makers era Rolling Stones[2], 13th Floor Elevators[3] and the bands included on the compilation album, Nuggets.[4] However, in an interview Ryan Sambol dismissed the lattermost of these comparisons as "ridiculous", stating the album was "filled mostly with boring stuff and horrible lyrics."[5]

In 2004, Philip Sambol and Greg Enlow were added to the line up and the band relocated to Austin before releasing their debut EP, States Newest Noisemakers, in the same year.[9]
The band later released their Nothing EP, in 2007 on Dusty Medical Records,[10][11] before issuing their debut full length album, entitled The Strange Boys and Girls Club via In The Red Records on March 3, 2009.
The Strange Boys have toured alongside acts such as the Mighty Hannibal, Roky Erickson, Mika Miko, Daniel Johnston, Black Lips, Reigning Sound, King Khan, Jay Reatard and made appearances at Austin City Limits Festival[12] and SXSW.
