The Long March was the trek in the 1930s by Chinese communists from base areas which were under attack by the Kuomintang forces under Chiang Kaishek from southern China to safer areas in the vicinity of Yen'an in Shanxi province. In Taiwan, the Long March is sometimes referred to as the Long Pursuit.
The Long March is historically significant because many Chinese leaders including Mao Tsetung and Deng Xiaoping participated in it.
Long March rocket is an expendable launch system used by China.
