SpongeBob's Truth or Square is the third movie of the TV series of SpongeBob SquarePants. It was formerly titled SpongeBob SquarePants: The Great Escape or SpongeBob's The Great Escape, but the title was later changed to this title. The episode is called Truth or Square, but the book calls it The Great Escape, its original name. There may be a marathon to go with the movie. There are planned episodes that will air in November^[1]. The DVD release of the TV movie will include 5 exclusive season 6 episodes, and some bonus material^[2].

Plot

The Krusty Krab celebrates its one-hundred and seventeenth anniversary, and Mr. Krabs plans to sell lots of Krabby Patties. However, SpongeBob, Patrick, Squidward, and Mr. Krabs accidentally get locked in the freezer before they have a chance to celebrate. While finding their way through air shafts, they look back at some memorable moments in their lives. Meanwhile, Plankton finally finds the perfect opportunity to steal the Krabby Patty formula, but he is unsuccessful in this. Some flashbacks to be shown are: footage of SpongeBob as a baby and the first Krusty Krab commercials.^[3]

Trivia

The German title is "Eiskalt Entwischt" (Means: "Ice Cold escaped")
In the promo, SpongeBob and Sandy are getting married and are about to kiss, but the wedding is quickly interrupted when a ceiling light falls in between them. However in another commercial, Spongebob mentions him and Sandy marrying.
There is a flashback on SpongeBob's first visit to the Krusty Krab. His mother was still pregnant with him.
Rumors ahead that the Krabby Patty secret formula will be revealed (Spongebob know the way to put a krabby patty together but, he doesn't know the formula to make the meat.
The movie has a new opening in stop-motion animation.
A new show named Fanboy and Chum Chum is scheduled to air the next day.

Books

In September, two books were released, which are based on this movie. They are called SpongeBob SquarePants: The Great Escape! and SpongeBob SquarePants: Good Times!^[4].
