"Baby, I Love Your Way" is a song written and performed by singer Peter Frampton that was first featured on his 1975 album, Frampton.
A live version (4:37) of the song was later released on his 1976 multi-platinum album Frampton Comes Alive!, where it gained popularity as a hit song, peaking at #12 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[1]
Cover versions
- The song was covered by the American reggae band Big Mountain in 1994, reaching #6 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart[1] and #2 on the UK Singles Chart. Their version is featured on the soundtrack for the 1994 movie Reality Bites.
- The American dance-pop group Will to Power created a medley of Frampton's song and the 1975 Lynyrd Skynyrd hit, "Free Bird", in 1988. Titled "Baby, I Love Your Way/Freebird Medley", this version spent one week at #1 on the Billboard Hot 100 chart.[1]
- Filipino bossa nova singer Sitti recorded a cover of this song for her second album My Bossa Nova.
- It was featured in the movie High Fidelity when musician Marie DeSalle (played by Lisa Bonet) sings this song on stage.
- This song has also been covered by Dinosaur Jr and Arearea.
- It was also covered by Diana Ross for her Baby It's Me album in 1977. It was included in the Diana Ross Anthology in 1983.
