Waukesha North High School is a high school in Waukesha, Wisconsin, and part of the Waukesha School District.[1] It officially opened its' doors at mid-semester during the 1974-'75 school year, the northside students transferring from Waukesha South High School to North.
The school has been recognized several times for its unique "rotating" schedule and advisory program,[2] along with being noted for its numerous WSMA state marching band championships.[3] The school is part of the Wisconsin Interscholastic Athletic Association and the Classic 8 Conference[4] in athletics. North's nickname is the "Northstars" and the school mascot is a polar bear, known as, "Sparky." Waukesha North is also a significant contributor to Invisible Children, Inc.,[5] and has raised thousands of dollars to contribute to Layibi Secondary School, in northern Uganda.
