Terraxia is a fictional character that appears in a comic book limited series published by Marvel Comics. The character first appears in Infinity Gauntlet #3 (Sep. 1991)[1] and was created by Jim Starlin.
Publication history
Terraxia first appears in the limited series Infinity Gauntlet, being created by the Titan Thanos during the time he wields the Infinity Gems. Thanos creates this female version of himself to be a friend and lover and to spite the entity Mistress Death, who continues to ignore him. Terraxia aids Thanos when the heroes of Earth confront him in a bid to strip him of the Gauntlet.
When the space pirate Nebula gains control of the Gauntlet, she maroons Thanos and Terraxia in space. This proves fatal for the character, who dies from asphyxiation as Thanos did not make her capable of surviving the vacuum of space. Nebula uses the Gauntlet to erase everything Thanos created, and Thanos realizes this would have wiped Terraxia from existence even if she had survived the rigors of space.[2]
