*It is trisphosphate since the phosphates are not covalently bound together, but are found in different locations in the molcule. Triphosphate means that the phosphates are attached to each other in the same molecule, like [[Adenosine triphosphate|ATP]]. Same logic applies for bisphosphate and tetrakisphosphate I believe. The chemical structure would be easier to visualize if a chair conformation were used.

  • It is trisphosphate since the phosphates are not covalently bound together, but are found in different locations in the molcule. Triphosphate means that the phosphates are attached to each other in the same molecule, like ATP. Same logic applies for bisphosphate and tetrakisphosphate I believe.
