Guru Nanak Institute of Technology is an engineering college located in West Bengal, India. The college was established in 2003 by the JIS Group, in Panihati, Sodpur, a suburb of Kolkata.The The college is an AICTE-approved institution and is affiliated to West Bengal University of Technology[1].The college consistently ranks among the first choices of students cracking the West Bengal Joint Entrance Examination.
The Campus
The Guru Nanak Institute of Technology(GNIT) campus is located on Nilgunj Road,in Sodpur,at a walking distance of 7 minutes from Sodpur Railway Station.The college campus is one of the largest for private engineering colleges in West Bengal.The college shares the campus with other sister colleges of JIS Group,like Guru Nanak Institute of Dental Sciences and Research,a pharma college, and hospitality management college.
The engineering college has one main U shaped building.An adjacent building is used for Workshop practicals.The left side section of the 1st floor of the college consists of the computer labs,like RDBMS labs,computer language labs,networking labs etc.The Department of Electrical Engineering has its labs mainly in the ground floor,Like the Electrical Machine labs,Control System labs,Thermal Power labs etc.
The main building is 4 storied.The canteen,xerox center, are located in the ground floor.Th administrative block,where the offices of the college principal,dean, and registrar is located in the 1st floor.The Trainng and Placement Office is located in the Ground floor.The conference room is in the top floor.The Engineering Drawing lab is in the 1st floor.
