Character Synopsis

Amy's Family

Amy Juergens

Amy Juergens (Shailene Woodley) is the 15-year-old daughter of George and Anne Juergens, the older sister of Ashley & Robby Juergens, and the mother of John Juergens. She is a sophomore at Ulysses S. Grant High School where she plays the French horn in the school marching band.[1] The summer before her freshman year Amy attended band camp where she lost her virginity in a one night stand with band mate Ricky Underwood. In the show's premiere episode, Amy discovers she has become pregnant from this encounter. Upon returning to school, Amy begins a relationship with Ben Boykewich, a highly supportive classmate with whom she falls in love. When she first met Ben, her original plan was to have sex with him and then tell him the baby was his. But the plan failed when Ben's father told him that Amy was pregnant.
Amy struggles to balance a teenage life with pregnancy and to find a way to provide the best possible life for her child once it is born. After she was unable to follow through with an abortion, Amy planned to move in with her grandmother and attend school while "Mimsy" took care of the child. When it was discovered that Mimsy had Alzheimer's disease, Amy hoped that her mother would take care of the baby, but Anne refused. Amy then attempted to marry Ben and raise the child together, but the couple's parents intervened.
Around this time, Amy and Ben's relationship became strained after Amy refused to consider allowing Ben at doctor's appointments, birthing classes, or the baby's birth. Although Amy originally wanted Ben to be involved with the baby, she becomes angry and frustrated with Ben's attempts to control her and Ricky's decisions about raising the child together, causing Ben to tell her he needed space. Finally, with encouragement from her friends and family Amy decides to keep her son in episode "Maybe Baby". She never wants to have sex again after childbirth. In "And Unto Us, A Child Is Born", Amy gives birth to her son whom Ashley names John Juergens. In the second season, Amy is stressed out and over protective of John, not wanting anyone to take care of him but herself. Later on however, Ben gets the amazing opportunity of going on a summer trip to Bologna, Italy, and Amy wants to go with him, although she has to take care of her son and work in the nursery. She tries everything in order to go, even offering to take John with her, but eventually concludes it would be too complicated. It is confirmed that Amy will not be going with Ben when former school academic counselor, Marc Molina, informs her that in order to complete the classes that she missed because of her pregnancy, she will be required to attend summer school, and therefore staying at home.
Amy receives her driver's license when on a vacation with her mother, John and Robbie. During this time Ricky began to worry about whether she would run off with John, and has since threatened legal action to prevent this.

Anne Juergens

Anne Juergens (Molly Ringwald) is the daughter of Mimsy and Robert, the estranged wife of George Juergens, the mother of Amy, Ashley & Robby Juergens, and the grandmother of John Juergens. She is a responsible, practical, and naturally independent woman who tries to instill the same virtues in her daughters. Anne met George while majoring in Women's Studies at college. When Anne discovered she had become pregnant with Amy, she reluctantly dropped out of college, married George, and became a housewife. Two years later she and George had Ashley. During the first season, Anne strongly suspected that George was having an affair. Although Anne confronted her husband numerous times, George denied it and the two constantly fought. After discovering that George was cheating on her with Cindy Lee, Anne separated from him. However, George is still in love with Anne, and continued to live in the Juergens' garage for a while before moving into the house next door. He prevents Anne from filing for divorce by hiding the household money from her. Anne had sex with George while he lived in the garage, signifying possible feelings although she states she has no plans to return to him. Since her separation, Anne has expressed a desire to return to college and get a job in architecture. She first took a job at a hot dog restaurant in order to become financially stable, where she met David Johnson, an architect who offered Anne a job helping his firm to go green.
Anne was angry and shocked after learning that Amy had sex and was pregnant, but soon recovered and revealed the story of her first pregnancy to Amy. She reveals that she only married George because she was pregnant, and does not want Amy to make the same mistake by marrying Ben. Although she loves and supports Amy, Anne has repeatedly stated that Amy must become responsible for her actions. As such, she refused to take care of the baby for her daughter and strongly advised Amy to consider adoption. She forced Amy to take an after school job in order to help her realize the potential difficulties of teen parenthood. Anne constantly tries to convince Amy that she needs to be more realistic in regards to raising a child and have her come up with a plan that allows her to finish high school, get a part-time job to feed and cloth the baby and pay for day care, go to college, find her own place to live, and raise the baby and made it clear that she favors adoption for Amy's baby. However, in episode 20, "Maybe Baby", Anne relented and allowed Amy to keep the baby.
In the Season 2 premiere Anne finds out she is pregnant. Since she slept with her new boyfriend David, on their first date, and her soon-to-be ex husband George Juergens had a vasectomy she assumes the baby could be only David's. However when Anne told David she was pregnant he was pretty shocked and amazed. Not because it was wonderful yet unexpected news, but rather because his doctor said that for him to have a baby is like a "medical miracle".
George Juergens, Anne's husband finds out Anne's having a baby early on the season, and while at the beginning he also thinks it is most likely David's, he then tells Grace Bowman that he "lied about his vasectomy and that the child could be his." Grace didn't keep the secret and she told Adrian, who made the rumor go all the way to school, which made Amy and Ashley suspicious. George later confirms that it's true to Ashley whom he lives with, but tells her to deny it to Amy, if she asks something about it. Ashley, later though, begs him to tell Anne before she marries David, which in the mean time asked her to be his wife. Lately in the episodes however, it seems that Anne accepted David's proposal because of her pregnancy, and not for love. When George plans to tell her, she doesn't want to hear it and at every word he says, insisting that she will marry David no matter what George says. In the episode "Be My Baby", Anne gives birth to Robert Scott Juergens, named after her father.

George Juergens

George Juergens (Mark Derwin) is the estranged husband of Anne Juergens, the father of Amy, Ashley, and Robby Juergens, and the grandfather of John Juergens. George is a comically blunt, somewhat immature, and often oblivious man, but one who loves his family and tries hard to protect them and keep them together. His first wife was Kathleen Bowman, a woman who married him for sex. The two divorced after she cheated on him, but because George never reveals this people assume that it was George who cheated on Kathleen.
George, a furniture salesman, met Anne while she was in college. He and Anne eloped shortly after discovering Anne was pregnant with Amy and had Ashley two years later.
George has since had a vasectomy and can no longer have children.[2] When Anne discovered George was having an affair with Cindy Lee, she ordered George to move out. George moved first to his furniture shop, then renovated the Juergens' garage into a bedroom with a urinal, and finally moved next door with Ashley- a situation Anne is pleased with. Although Anne wants to file for divorce, George realizes he is still in love with her and attempts to prevent a divorce by hiding the household money from her. He is crushed when he learns Anne had once cheated on him with an old college friend and when he sees the architect flirting with her. George employs Donovan and is becoming friends with Leo Boykewich.
George believed that Amy was the "good girl" of the house and was shocked after learning she had become pregnant, but like his wife recovered and supports his daughter. Unlike Anne, George hoped that Amy would keep the baby. He tried to sabotage the interviews Anne held for potential adoptive parents and conspired with Ashley to convince Amy to keep her son, but agreed to allow Donovan and Leon to adopt. When the couple backed out, George reminded Amy that she could keep her son, which she did.
In "Ciao" we learn that George lied about having a vasectomy and he may possibly be the father of Anne's third child. He told Grace this information when he caught her skipping school. Grace, unable to keep a secret, ends up telling Adrianne who then spreads the rumor around school. When Madison and Lauren tell Amy that her dad might be the father of Anne's child, she gets worried and asks Ashley, whom he lives with, if this is true. Ashley denies it as told to do by George previously. He tries telling Anne later, however she wouldn't listen to him. After the summer is over, he finally confesses and admits that he lied about having a vasectomy to his soon-to-be ex-wife. Anne claims that she and her former boyfriend, David, already knew. George then says that he can fix the situation and that he loves Anne.
George frequently argues with David, mostly over Anne and the baby. In "A New Kind of Green" David bets George that he can win Anne over and end up living with the girls, John and Robbie. It's unclear who Anne will choose because David has invited Anne back to work at his firm after she has the baby. George is worried about Robbie's paternity because of Anne going back to David if he is the baby's biological dad.

Ashley Juergens

Ashley Juergens (India Eisley) The younger sister of Amy Juergens and older sister to Robby Juergens, and the aunt of John Juergens. She is mature, observant, and sarcastic and tends to speak in a low, monotone voice. Between her parents' marital troubles and Amy's pregnancy, Ashley is often forgotten by her family and remarks that she could get away with anything. However, Ashley's main concern is keeping her family together, including her nephew. Ashley believes that the baby will reunite her dividing family and worked hard to discourage Amy from adoption. In an effort to support her sister financially Ashley voluntarily took a job as a cocktail waitress, but was forced to quit by her father because she was underage. Because of her role in convincing Amy to keep the baby, Amy asks Ashley to name her son. Ashley lived with her father next door to Anne and Amy for a while. She is opposed to her mother's boyfriend.
Ashley appears to have few friends of her own, but has become close to some of Amy's. After Alice Valko broke up with him, Henry Miller asked Ashley out and attended Ben and Amy's "wedding" with her. The relationship never became serious. Later, Ashley met Thomas, a home schooled boy, at a bus stop while skipping school. Thomas' dog had recently died, and the two grew close over their mutual distress with life. However, Ashley ends the relationship because it lacked passion. Ashley suspects that George is the father of Anne's unborn child. When she hears a rumor going around Grant High School that her dad actually did lie about the vasectomy, she asks George for information who confirms that he is most likely the father of Anne's child. He also tells Ashley to deny, if Amy asks anything about it. Ashley passes the summer on an RV George rented. In the episode Summertime Ashley attends high school for the first time and meets her gay sidekick Griffin.[2]

Mimsy

Mimsy (Alice Hirson) is Robert Scott's widow, Anne's mother, Amy, Ashley and Robby's grandmother and John Juergens great-grandmother. She has Alzheimer's disease and recently moved to an assisted care home. It is stated in one episode that she likes everyone better than Anne, and Anne is reluctant to tell her about anything in her life, such as her marital problems with George as well as her pregnancy. Anne and Amy worry about her sometimes.
John Juergens
is the biological son of Amy Juergens and Ricky Underwood, grandson of Anne and George Juergens, nephew of Ashley Juergens and Robby Juergens. John was conceived during a one night stand between fifteen year old Amy and sixteen year old Ricky at band camp in 2008 and born on March 23, 2009. Ricky and Ben both desire to be involved in John's life, and often come into conflict over their roles in his life.[3] Ashley names the baby John, remarking "go with John. You need a nice, clean, simple name. That kid's life will be complicated enough". John is loved tremendously by his parents, Amy and Ricky. Amy does not believe that John is a punishment for her having sex at fifteen, as Grace said.[2]
Robert Scott Juergens
is the newborn son of Anne and George Juergens, brother of Amy and Ashley Juergens, uncle of John Juergens and grandson of Mimsy & Robert Scott. He was named for his maternal grandfather. His birthday is on September 7, 2009 and was born at home.

Grace's Family

Grace Bowman

Grace Bowman (Megan Park) is the biological daughter of Marshall and Kathleen Bowman and the younger sister of the adopted Tom Bowman. She is a sixteen year old sophomore, cheerleader, and dreams of attending medical school. Grace is a devout Christian and does her best to act accordingly. During season 1, she refuses to consider having sex before marriage, causing her boyfriend, Jack Pappas, to cheat on her with Adrian Lee. Grace tells the two she has forgotten the misdeed because only God can forgive and becomes best friends with Adrian. Grace helps Adrian locate her father and tries to teach her to act like a lady, while Adrian helps her to loosen up. Grace also returns to Jack, but becomes infatuated with bad boy Ricky, certain she can change Ricky's ways. Ricky pretends to become a born-again-Christian for Grace, and together the two try to keep Amy from having an abortion. Later, Grace arranges for Amy's job at the church so Amy can provide for her son herself.
Ricky comes to genuinely care for Grace and ends their relationship when his father returns to protect her, although Grace claims she loves him and resists. However, Grace eventually discovers Ricky has been sleeping with Adrian and ends their relationship permanently. Grace confronts Adrian at school with a catfight, but the girls emerge laughing and rebond over their mutual distrust of Ricky. Grace tries to convince Adrian to "reclaim" her virginity by abstaining from sex until marriage, but Adrian does not follow through. When Kathleen, Grace's mother, finds a string of condoms Adrian gave Grace, she offers Grace birth control pills while making it clear that neither Kathleen nor Marshall approve of sex before marriage. Grace confirms she is still a virgin, but asks to keep the pills just in case. At the end of season one, Grace accepts Ricky's apology for cheating on her, releases her feelings for him, and gets back together with Jack. She tells Jack that although she is not yet ready for sex, she is no longer certain she wants to wait until marriage and begins to take the birth control pills.
In the first episode of the second season, Grace loses her virginity to Jack. In bed, both she and Jack tell each other having sex feels right. As Jack leaves her house, Grace's mother and brother enter and inform Grace that Marshall died in a plane crash. Grace cries, believing his death is her fault because Marshall wanted her to wait for marriage and regrets both having sex and refusing to call her father before his flight. Grace on her first day back at school ran out because everybody was feeling sorry for her and ran into George. They talked about life and he told Grace that Anne's kid might be his kid also. Grace went to a medical camp over the summer and thinks Jack did something with Amy's friend, Madison. She broke up with Jack in "Be My, Be My Baby" because of oral sex.

Kathleen Bowman

Kathleen Bowman (Josie Bissett): Grace's mother and George's ex-wife. She cheated on George during their marriage. As a teen, Kathleen's mother did not let her have any physical contact with any boys. She told Grace that she only married George for sex. She waited until she married Marshall to have sex with him. She becomes a widow after Marshall dies in a private jet crash. She began dating a guy named Jeff much to Grace's displeasure.

Tom Bowman

Tom Bowman (Luke Zimmerman): Grace's older brother, who has Down Syndrome. He doesn't live with his biological parents; he was adopted by the Bowmans. He wants to marry his girlfriend Tammy, despite having only been on one date with her. He sometimes refers to Ricky as "Drummer Boy" and cares deeply about Grace. Tom told Jack if he married Grace he also married him, showing how much he loves Grace. It is also revealed in the same episode that he can hold a grudge in the Season 2 episode "Hot Nuts".
Dr. Marshall Bowman (John Schneider)
Grace's overprotective father. He also is the partner of the Juergens' pediatrician, Dr. Hightower, which is how he found out about Amy's pregnancy. He later admits to Ricky in the 15th episode that his brother was also sexually abused by his neighbor and later committed suicide. In the first episode of season two Marshall dies after the private jet he was on crashes, leaving Grace thinking the crash was all her fault because she had sex with her boyfriend, Jack, when Marshall told her not to. His body was cremated and spread on a hole in a golf course.

Ben's Family

Benjamin "Ben" Boykewich

Benjamin "Ben" Boykewich (Kenny Baumann) originally wished to date and have sex with Grace Bowman, but Alice informed him Grace was a Christian who would not have sex with anyone until she was married. Alice advised him to pursue Amy because she was smart, nice, a band geek, and might have been desperate enough to date him. Ben joined band as the cymbals player to meet Amy and asked her out to a school fundraiser. Amy agreed, and her friends suggest she have sex with him and try to pass the baby off as his. However, Ben and Amy quickly fall in love and develop a strong relationship, although they never have sex.
When Ben learns Amy is pregnant, he panics, believing he has managed to get her pregnant through kissing, and proposes to her. After Amy describes the circumstances, he decides he still loves her, leaves his proposal a standing offer, and offers to tell their parents the baby is his. He explains he wasn't angry because "by the time I knew [you were pregnant] I was already so in love with you that it didn’t matter. It didn’t matter then, it doesn’t matter now, it’s not gonna matter when we’re at our son’s wedding." After Amy's pregnancy becomes public, Ben is beaten up while trying to defend her honor against classmates who degrade her. He also helps to talk Amy out of abortion or adoption. He continuously states that he supports raising the child together, and eventually marries Amy in a local wedding chapel, although the marriage is invalid because the two were underage and used fake IDs.
Ben and Ricky often clashed over their roles in the baby's and Amy's lives during Amy's pregnancy. Ben tells Amy that "I understand that you and Ricky are going to have to share the baby throughout the baby’s life, but I hope you understand that I have no intention of sharing you with Ricky".[4] When Amy refused to allow Ben at doctor's appointments, birthing classes, or the baby's birth and she started to meet with Ricky about the baby without informing Ben, Ben felt she had begun to have stronger feelings for Ricky than for him and broke up with Amy. Ben ignored Amy's phone calls and his father asked Amy to give Ben space when she visited his house. Ben later apologized to a furious Amy and agreed to give her time to think about giving their relationship another chance. The two have made up, and their relationship has returned to its original strength. In "Money for Nothing, Chicks for Free", Ricky agreed to allow Ben the role of father to the baby and husband/boyfriend to Amy because, unlike Ben, Ricky could not afford to pay child support or provide a comfortable life for Amy.[3] However, Ben's father realizes Ben takes their financial well-being for granted and gives both Ricky and Ben jobs at his butcher shop. There, Ben and Ricky slowly come to respect each other, and in the hospital while waiting for Amy to give birth, Ben reaches out to Ricky in friendship. Ben tells Mr. Molina that "Ricky and I are going to make really good dads. And I'm not going to let Ricky get in my way again. We're going to be friends, Ricky and me. And even if he isn't capable of being my friend, I'm going to go with the saying, keep your friends close, keep your enemies closer".[2] In the second season, Amy tells him he has become more jealous of Ricky than ever. His jealousy results in a desire for sex with Amy, although she refuses due to a fear of becoming pregnant again. The summer after his freshmen year, Ben gets the amazing opportunity to go on a summer trip to Bologna, Italy where he meets Maria. Maria came to visit while Amy was on vacation. Madison and Lauren told Amy, who then broke up with Ben.

Leo Boykewich

Leo Boykewich (Steve Schirripa): Ben's widowed father. He is known as "The Sausage King." He comforts Anne after she learns the truth about George. He trusts Ben to do the right thing and is one of the first to suspect Amy's pregnancy. In season two he begins to date Betty (Jennifer Coolidge), the prostitute Tom had hired in the first season. Leo delivered the news to Ben of Grace's dad's death the night after he slept with Betty for the first time, though it is assumed he doesn't know that Betty is a prostitute. He later proposes to Betty, not knowing she was married- but wants to be with him. He promises to hunt down her husband, who hurts her, so they can get married.

Ricky's Family

Ricky Underwood

Ricky Underwood (Daren Kagasoff) is the seventeen year old son of Bob Underwood and Nora Underwood and the biological father of John Juergens. Ricky is a Junior at Ulysses S. Grant High School where he is the drummer in the high school marching band and holds the reputation of being the school's bad boy and player. His biological father, Bob, is a drug addict who beat Ricky's mother, and sexually abused Ricky as a child. Bob is currently in jail. Ricky's biological mother, also a drug addict, is still on the streets.[5] Ricky is now in foster care and sees a therapist Dr. Ken Fields, the father of Lauren. Ricky describes his foster mother, Margaret, as the "greatest woman ever" for taking in and caring for a teenage boy with drug addict parents.
Ricky's interest in forming a family with Amy and their son often causes conflict between Ricky and Ben, Amy's boyfriend, who desires the same. Ricky became angry at the meeting with Amy, when he, Ben, and Amy clash over what route would be best for the baby and told Ben to "stay out of it". When Ben asks Ricky whether he is after Amy or the baby, Ricky responds, that he is after "both".[3]
Robert "Bob" Underwood (Bryan Callen)
Ricky's biological father and grandfather to John Juergens. He was sent to jail for sexually abusing his son. He returns in episode 14 of season 1 while on parole. He scared Amy when he came to her house because she thought he was going to harm her when he only wanted to find out where Ricky was. He is trying to convince Ricky to sell the baby but is later caught by Jack and put in jail again for possession of drugs in the next episode.
Margaret Shakur (L. Scott Caldwell)
Ricky's foster mother and John Juergens's grandmother. Heather is told by Amy that Ricky's foster mother will help with the baby if needed.

Her mother is a flight attendant and was able to make enough money to feed and clothe Adrian and already has her entire college education paid for. Adrian's mother is often away at work and leaves her home alone for days at a time with a lot of money which usually allows for Adrian to have a guy stay over at her house to have sex for the night. Adrian performed oral sex on Jack when Jack and Grace were still together. She kissed Jack in the presence of Grace, her brother Tom, and many of the other school members at Grace's church's dance and caused Jack and Grace to break up. Adrian accepted Ricky for who he was, cared about him, dated him, and had sex with him. However, the entire time, she really wanted to pursue a real relationship with him. She was unable to accept Amy Juergens and Grace Bowman for who they were and hated them. Adrian thought that Amy was a child and a know-it-all band geek and Grace was a stuck-up snob. Adrian was extremely jealous that Amy was pregnant with Ricky's baby and that Grace was Ricky's new love interest. Adrian attempted to help Amy get an abortion but Amy was unable to go through with it. Adrian and Grace now accept each other for who they are and are friends although it is sometimes complicated. One of their arguments over Ricky resulted in a physical fight in front of everyone at school. Adrian found out that Ruben Enriquez was her father and tried to get a hold of him, although he ignored her at first. He quickly insisted on being a bigger part of her life, which proved troublesome to her when he would come over to the Lees' apartment during one of Ricky's and Adrian's trysts. Adrian dumped Ricky after he insisted on being a part of Amy and their baby's lives and tried to run away from home but her father had the cops chase her and bring her back. It was announced in episode eleven that she would be attending an all girls' school, but she was never seen to go through with it. Ricky and Adrian slept with each other for some time after that even when Ricky was dating Grace and Adrian helped him deal with his father Bob Underwood's return. However, after Jack told Grace the truth that Ricky was still sleeping with Adrian, Grace confronted Adrian about it over the phone. Ricky refused to have sex with her anymore and she has decided to get over her feelings for Ricky and let her hard feelings towards Amy go. Adrian started to date her step-brother Max, whom she was instantly attracted to. When Adrian realized that she enjoys dating, she decided to change her lifestyle and expressed a desire to earn back her virginity and abstain from sex until marriage. However, Adrian changes her mind at Amy's baby shower, where she has sex with Max. She realizes she does not love Max, although Max loves her, and most likely is secretly in love with Ricky. Adrian tells Ricky to make sure he's around for the baby and that the baby grows up with a dad because she knows how it feels not to grow up with a dad. Adrian suspects Ricky he cheating on her so she done the same to him. Adrian plans to move into Amy's dad house because he wants to move back in with Anne. Adrian had a friend with cancer named Antonio who was moving for cancer treatment in another state. She told Ricky this in therapy which is why she wants a commitment.she found that ricky cheated on her and so she threw her phone into the butcher shop's window

Adrian's mother. She works as a flight attendant and is rarely home. She and George had an affair. When she found out she was pregnant with Adrian, she ran from Ruben Enriquez, claiming she didn't want him to have anything to do with the baby. She loves Adrian, but thinks that Adrian doesn't love her back, though she does. She was unaware of Adrian's affairs and her moniker as the "school slut" until Adrian's father told her. Despite this, Cindy continues to work, leaving Adrian alone, where Adrian continues to have sex. Cindy and Ruben are now together. She got a promtion at work and is thinking about to New York for the job offering .
Ruben Enriquez (Philip Anthony-Rodriguez)
Adrian's father and the ex-boyfriend of Cindy. He was not involved with Adrianne during her childhood years because he and Cindy made a deal not to see each other. Adrianne tracks him down in the episode "Slice of Life". At first Ruben tells Adrian he wants nothing do with her, but later decides to be in her life to help her turn her life around for the better. Ruben is an Assistant District Attorney and is married for the third time. Adrianne is his second biological child (he has a biological son in Mexico), however, he is the stepfather to two sons. For confidentiality reasons, he could not tell Adrian that he had known the truth about Ricky having been sexually abused. Ruben and Cindy are together now.So they are looking for a house. Ruben leaves his family to spend more his daughter. Ruben learns from Adrian that George might want to move back in with Anne. He and George settle on a deal when he agrees to buy the house.

Jack's Family

Jack Pappas

Jack Pappas (Greg Finley II) is a junior who is on the football team. He used to date Grace Bowman until he cheated on her. Adrian gave him oral sex, which Grace found out about. His step-father, Reverend Stone, is the minister of the church Grace's family attends, and told him to date Grace only to ensure her wealthy family continued to donate. He took the blame for the fake ID manufacturing because he didn't want the actual culprit to get in trouble, but is only left with community service, which is mentoring a kid, Duncan, in the "slums" of their town. While mentoring, he falls in love with Duncan's older sister Shawna, and the two begin dating. In the episode "Whoomp! (There It Is)", Jack kisses Grace and later breaks up with Shawna, who already suspects him to be cheating. He continues to mentor Duncan, however, at Shawna's request. He gets back together with Grace, and eventually wants to marry her. In the season finale of season 1, Jack and Grace get back together. In the first episode of season 2, Grace and Jack decide to have sex for the first time, and while Jack is leaving the Bowman's house, they find out that Grace's dad died in a plane crash. He and Grace broke up, and hinted that he and Madison did something over the summer.

Rev. Sam Stone

Rev. Sam Stone (Tom Virtue): Jack's stepfather, the minister at the local church. Jack told him why Grace thinks her dad died. He tried, unsuccessfully, to make Grace see that she and Jack having sex had nothing to with her father's death.
Mrs. Stone
Jack's mother, who has only been mentioned. She met her second husband at grief counseling. Her voice is heard once yelling at Jack when he throws a football into the window.

The Molinas

Marc Molina

Marc Molina (Jorge Pallo): Marc Molina was the school guidance counselor and was a big hit with the girls at the start of the school year.
