Re-commission

Channel 4 announced that Coach Trip will return to television screens in May 2009 with filming taking place in autumn 2008.

The Third Series of Coach Trip will be broadcast on Channel 4 on the 25th May 2009 from 5:00pm – 5:30pm (also see Channel 4+1). An omnibus was originally shown each weekend but was cancelled part of the way through. However, a full re-run omnibus was announced to start from Sunday 5 July from 2:20pm – 5:05pm on a weekly basis on More4. The Third Series was filmed during September and October 2008. The show follows the same format as the previous two series with 7 pairs of contestants traveling throughout Europe for 6 weeks led by Brendan Sheerin.

Series Three

Coach Trip 3 was the third series of Coach Trip in the United Kingdom. The show's format remained unchanged from the previous series: seven couples of two travelling around Europe on a coach for 30 days attempting to avoid being voted off the coach by their fellow travellers. Tour guide Brendan Sheerin and coach driver Paul Donald both returned for this series, which aired on Channel 4. David Quantick was the narrator.

Commissioning of Series 4

The following announcement was posted on the Channel 4 website on 30 June 2009:

This would lead to the assumption that the 4th series will begin shooting in September 2009 with a potential screening in late spring and summer 2010 as this was the original plan for Series 3 which then ended up being held back until the last week of May, instead of January 2009. Instead of having the standard 30 episodes and 29 votes in a 6 week format, Channel 4 have decided to exend it to a 50 episode, 49 vote, 10 week format. The trip will take in 50 cities, including Egypt, Istanbul, Athens, Sicily and Malta.

Series Four

Coach Trip 4 is the fourth series of Coach Trip in the United Kingdom. While the main format remained the same this series, the length of the series was increased to 50 days. Guide Brendan Sheerin, driver Paul Donald and narrator David Quantick all returned for this series.
