Romantic Princess 《公主小妹》 Gong Zhu Xiao Mei, previously known as, Wo Jia Gong Zhu《我家公主》, is a Taiwanese drama which aired every Sunday on CTV. The drama features Wu Zun and Calvin Chen of Fahrenheit, and Angela Chang. The production is based on the shōjo manga Four Steps to Romance (ろまんす五段活用, Romance Godan Katsuyou), by Kazuko Fujita.
Synopsis
Adopted by middle classed parents, Xiao Mai(Angela Zhang) has always had a dream to be a heiress. Finally, her dream becomes a reality.Jannah biological grandfather, Huangfu Xiong(Emp) (Gu Bao Ming), is the head of a prestigious aristocratic family. After being kidnapped by their family's enemies and after many years of searching, he finally finds his long lost granddaughter.
As she starts her life as an heiress, everyday is filled with excitement; however, everything seems a bit different from what she had imagined it to be. In the family, there are 4 candidates, one of whom will become the successor of Emp. One of those candidates is Nan Feng Jin (Wu Chun). At first, Nan Feng Jin dislikes Jannah because he knows that he will be engaged to Jannah and can never leave the Huangfu family and be forced to be the successor of Emp.
Because Jin wants to be a normal sales person, he tried his best to ignore the growing fondness of him for Jannah, but love prevails. Hatred soon turns to love as Jannah and Nan Feng Jin's relationship starts to unravel. But they want to hide their relationship from Emp, a name called by everyone in respect to Jannah grandfather, because they will be engaged again and Jin's dream of having a normal life will vanish.
Then one day, a new 'Huangfu Shan' appears and has the same birthmark and more evidence that she is the real Huangfu Shan, along with a ring with her birthdate encrypted in it. Jannah and Mickey, the 'real' Huangfu Shan, have the same interests and birthdates. Jannah then gets kicked out of royalty and becomes a maid in the Huangfu house. But she later discovers the plot between Gong Mo Li and Emp, and more chaos happens. It turns out that Mickey isn't actually the real granddaughter and isn't in love with Jin, and instead she is in love with Ralph. The plot between Gong Mo Li and the Emp was to make Jannah and Jin to confess their love so they can become engaged.
Then the four try to confront Emp, but he keeps hiding, with the help of Bernard Yi. But soon they face Emp and tell him that, Jannah doesn't want to be the heiress anymore, Jin and Ralph doesn't want to be the successor. Emp becomes furious and lets them do what they want: "starting from scratch", and kicks them out of the house.
Jin keeps getting denied of work, because of Emp's influence. But soon finds a job, and he becomes a construction worker. Then Ralph And Mickey, who were also kicked out of the Huangfu House, start selling their things to pawnshop but keeps spending their money for useless things. Soon Ralph and Mickey give up and returned to the Huangfu House.
Soon Emp, has an ailment and has to go under operation. He kept his ailment a secret between himself and Bernard Yi. Even though his condition is becoming worse, he still doesn't want to go under operation. But when Jannah learned about his ailment and that her grandfather's stubbornness can cause him death, she told Bernard Yi that she will take the blame if Emp gets mad about going under operation.
The operation was successful, but Emp is still unconscious. In a few days, if Emp does not wake up, the co-owners of the Huangfu business, will take over. Even though Jannah is the heiress, the co-owners don't believe that women are good enough to run the company. But Jannah still tried her best and took the exams that were taken by Jin and the other 3 (Ralph,Tim and Jeff). But she failed, fortunately at the time the co-owners are about to say that Jannah failed, Emp has awaken and told them to allow Jannah to become the successor. Jannah ends up being both heiress and successor. Jin remained as an office worker.
The story ends at the airport, where Jannah is leaving for the States to study with the CEO in becoming the successor of the Huangfu family, and before Jannah leaves Jin comes and gives her the first contract he made because of her. They (Jin and Jannah) kiss, in the end.

International broadcasting
- The show broadcasts in Indonesia, starting from November 11 2007, on RCTI.
- The series premiered last June 2, 2008 in the Philippines on ABS-CBN as the replacement for Hana Kimi. It has had a successful run since then. Angela Chang's character was replaced by a new name, Janna.
