Earl Benjamin (born October 13, 1991), know by the stage name of Ben J, is an American rapper, songwriter, and record producer. As a member of the New Boyz, him and fellow member and best friend Legacy, debuted with the hit single "You're A Jerk" from their album Skinny Jeanz and a Mic. From Hesperia, California, the New Boyz have managed to peak #24 on the Billboard Hot 100 and followed up with "Tie Me Down" featuring Ray J, which peaked at #1.
Creation of the New Boyz
"The duo of Ben J (born Earl Benjamin) and Legacy (Dominic Thomas) met as freshmen at Hesperia High School in San Bernardino County. Both were part of the same extra large rap group, but then each left to become solo artists. With their October birthdays only a day apart, they pooled their gift money to buy rudimentary recording equipment. After Legacy transferred to a new school, they decided to combine forces as New Boyz, creating a sound, slang and fashion sense that’s made them the biggest hip-hop group to emerge from L.A. in years. He has a little cousin named Conne, they are very close. Ben J also has a child but was said that he regrets having a child so young but he loves her very much. He is currently single."[1]
Personal life
Ben J has a daughter named Kamiya. She is 11 months old.
