Joel Aguilar (born July 2, 1975) is a Salvadoran football referee who currently resides in San Salvador. He has been a full international referee for FIFA since 2001.
He was selected as a referee for the 2007 FIFA Under-20 World Cup in Canada, where he refereed the matches between the United States and South Korea on June 30, 2007, New Zealand and Gambia on July 5, 2007 and Austria and Chile on July 8, 2007.
He was preselected as a referee for the 2010 FIFA World Cup.[1]
Aguilar was involved in controversy in the 2009 Gold Cup quarterfinal match between Canada and Honduras.
