Elliot Benjamin Jacobson (born September 2, 1983) is an American drummer for the New York-based singer/songwriter and friend Ingrid Michaelson. He is also the regular drummer for Jenny Owen Youngs, Bess Rogers[1], Allie Moss, Lelia Broussard and Lauren Zettler. [2]

Elliot was born in Houston, TX and lived there until 1997. He then moved with his family to Buffalo, NY. Elliot started playing drums in 1996 in his middle school band. In 2002, Elliot moved to Staten Island, NY and attended Wagner College for Arts Administration. It was there on Staten Island where he met Ingrid Michaelson and her bassist Chris Kuffner. Ingrid invited Elliot to play drums on her first album Slow The Rain and later played drums on Girls and Boys and Everybody[3]

With Ingrid, Elliot has performed on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno, Late Night with Conan O'Brien, The Ellen DeGeneres Show, Good Morning America, The Rachael Ray Show, Live with Regis and Kelly, The CBS Early Show and others. [4]

Elliot endorses Vater drumsticks, Yamaha Drums, Sabian Cymbals, Evans Drumheads and Gator Cases. [5]

Elliot has also worked with Regina Spektor [6], Greg Laswell, Jim Bianco, The Woes, April Smith, Dan Romer, Ashley Dupre, Betsie Larkin, Hayley Taylor[7], Charlie Ward, Anya Marina, Nick Howard, Rachel Platten, Alexa Wilkinson, Nell Bryden and others. [8]

In 2010, Elliot was voted as #1 Up and Coming Drummer in the Modern Drummer Magazine's Readers Poll.

Elliot currently resides in Brooklyn, NY when he is not touring.
