The use of slang in the plot summary may be confusing to anyone other than hip American readers.... "spin doctor" (political consultant?), "shakedown" (extortion), "taco slinger" (is throwing tacos a useful thing to do?), "blade slinger" (sounds like the marketing department talking). The whole thing is written like as a promotion for the movie. - [[User:Rapscallion|Rapscallion]] ([[User talk:Rapscallion|talk]]) 22:26, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Plot Summary?

How exactly can one write a plot summary of a movie that hasn't been filmed yet? Clampton 14:27, 9 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Well, the film is an extrapolation of the fake trailer in Grindhouse, which pretty much states the entire plot. However, making assumptions would be original research, unless it's phrased as "the plot from the trailer is blah blah blah".
I do think the "a plot summary is needed" tag on this page is BS, though; I've commented it out. EVula // talk // // 20:09, 11 April 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Nightwolf

There is a very similar character in the MK series...Nightwolf. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by 24.37.25.81 (talk) 04:04, 13 April 2007 (UTC).[reply]

Just read the article on Nightwolf and there's nothing similar about them. 200.23.91.240 16:42, 27 September 2007 (UTC) (Hey! Listen!)[reply]

Spy Kids

Regarding the spin-off discussion here...I somewhat highly doubt that a Grindhouse flick would function as a Spy Kids spinoff...o.O Besides, as its stated, plans for Machete have dated back to 1993, and thus, Trejo had several characters in his movies named Machete. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 70.188.24.125 (talk) 02:52, 17 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

  • Funny. I was watching Spy Kids the other day and I had not made the connection until now; I had forgotten Danny Trejo's character there was also called Machete. Though there is a connection with Spy Kids and Machete, though I don't think they'd link them ... as Machete is definitely not a kid's movie. O_O 189.180.66.54 (talk) 15:56, 1 March 2008 (UTC)[reply]
The very name title gives that away. Evilgidgit (talk) 13:10, 19 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Merge

This project is not in production, so per the notability guidelines for films, I'd suggest merging the content to a broader article. if no one protests, I'll go ahead and put a WP:PROD template up. —Erik (talkcontrib) - 22:36, 18 October 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Poster

Here is a clearer version of the the poster. http://www.themovieblog.com/2008/01/machete-poster#comments 76.241.72.91 (talk) 23:27, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Production

Has this film actually gone into production yet? The article states production was to start w/ Sin 2, but that has yet to start filming either.-66.109.248.114 (talk) 21:49, 10 February 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Grindhouse?

Will 'Machete' be merged with another movie as Death Proof and Planet Terror were? I heard something about an expansion on the also fake trailer, "Don't." Anything on this, or will it just be a regular single movie by itself? StupidityxLEAK (talk) 06:36, 26 April 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Redirect

The film is not in production or pre-production. The only timeline is with Sin City 2, which is in developmental hell, and Rodriguez already committing to other projects (Red Sonja). I am moving for a redirect, as the page currently is an example of WP:Crystal Ball, and would likely be deleted if nominated. A redirect could save the material until development begins again. -66.109.248.114 (talk) 20:10, 13 July 2008 (UTC).[reply]

While I understand the principle of your redirect, one user cannot be the sole judge of the status of an article. On top of that, immediately redirecting a page without discussion is not exactly the best way to go about things. Even when absent, one may obtain a reasonable debate by petitioning the overseeing WikiProject. Please do this as opposed. Once a discussion has occurred and a legitimate consensus has been reached, then one may choose whether or not to have this page as a redirect, or remove it entirely till a later date. Consensus was clearly and legitimately established by policy and guidelines, which supersedes any local consensus. Absence of opposition is acceptable for consensus, as it reflect the move is non-contentious (which would be further substantiated by the fact that the move is rooted in policy). -66.109.248.114 (talk) 22:07, 18 August 2008 (UTC).[reply]

Attempting to assassinate the senator at a political rally...

Attempting to assassinate the senator at a political rally, Machete is double-crossed and is shot in the shoulder by Benz's henchmen whom are soon revealed to be in league with Senator McLaughlin who orchestrated the entire attempted assassination with Benz as part of a false flag operation to gain widespread public support for McLaughlin's harsh anti-immigration laws by setting up Machete as the patsy to make it appear that an outlaw illegal Mexican immigrant tried to assassinate the senator. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 98.148.182.33 (talk) 02:07, 16 March 2010 (UTC)[reply]
