I have contributed greatly to Animusic, mostly because when it first came out, I was crazy over it. I was crazy beyond the human capacity to actually be crazy. Everything I did for the next several weeks were Animusic related. Pipe Dreams. Stick figures banging away. Floating drum sticks. Electrical sounds.
Animusic was very effective in its advertising, because two of the pieces, (Pipe Dream and Drum Machine) was actually possible in the human nature, making many believe that it was true. So after those animations were shown, I didn't really care if the other animations were possible or not.
My favorite animation is Acoustic Curves because the music sounds amazing. To me, this was the most beautiful piece of all, because it was harmonic, and perfect. No other piece can match this. It sounded so good, I was actually crying when I heard it. Yep, it was that good.
For some reason, a lot of people don't see the "story" that takes place in some animations. For example:
Resonant Chamber: the beginning of the song was miserable and sad, although some parts of it was a little upbeat. Towards the end of the song, the tune completely changes, and every separate instrument was happy to be "freed" from the evil captors. But all that changes when the traitor, the guitar strikes the sad chord, which made all of the other instruments captive once again, forever.
Harmonic Voltage: the beginning of the songs were happy, and tuneful. Then, the evil green alien comes, and takes the place of the purple and red lasers. It plays the song with the yellow pulse dischargers for a while, until dischargers betrays the green laser and plays the chord that will lead to the next part of the song. Then everyone one is happy again.
Well, that's just what I think. If everyone thinks I'm just being silly, then that's okay.
I loved Animusic so much, I practically memorized exactly how each animation went. I knew which parts came before the other, so I am now able to play most of the songs in my head, except for Starship Groove (wasn't so good) and most of Gyro Drums (too many drums!).
I watched Animusic 1 because I borrowed it from the library, but I still don't have the Animusic 2 DVD because only one library in my area has it. Now I anxiously wait for Animusic 3 to be released, although for some reason many are saying it will come out in 2010 (unsourced). If it only took close to three years for Animusic 1 and Animusic 2 to be finished, then Animusic 3 might as well be the same.
