"The Catalyst" is the first single from the upcoming fourth studio album, A Thousand Suns, by American Rock band Linkin park The song is set to be released on August 2, 2010.
Release and promotion
On July 9th, 2010, Linkin Park, Myspace, and MixParade opened a contest called Linkin Park, Featuring You, in which fans are invited to download stems of "The Catalyst" for remixing purposes. The winner of the contest, chosen by the band members themselves, will have their remix featured on A Thousand Suns.
