Charges
In 2004, prior to Jersey Shore, Polizzi was criminally charged for selling alcohol to minors at a party at her house, after underaged party guest Michael Truncali was killed in a drunk driving accident right after the party.<ref>{{Cite web

Jersey Shore prompted criticism from groups such as the National Italian American Foundation, UNICO National, and the Order Sons of Italy in America over using "ethnic slurs, violence and poor behavior to marginalize and stereotype Italian-Americans". MTV countered that several of the cast members are not entirely Italian. Yet, in following media appearances, all cast members are referred to as young Italian-Americans in their introductions. In February 2010, Jenni Farley (J-woww) stated on Fox News Channel's "The Strategy Room" that she and Polizzi are not of Italian descent, and that Ronnie is half Puerto Rican. On the February 23, 2010 edition of The View, Polizzi was asked if she was Italian-American. She replied that she was mostly Chilean and a little bit Sicilian. Other sources state that she is entirely Chilean, having been adopted at birth.<ref>{{cite web|url=http://www.ivillage.com/joy-behar-jersey-shore-cast-view/1-d-118100 |title='The View' Showdown: Joy Behar vs. 'Jersey Shore'

Nicole Polizzi (born November 23, 1987), publicly known by her nickname Snooki, is an American television personality. She rose to prominence in late 2009, when she began appearing on the MTV reality show The Jersey Shore, alongside others. The series follows Polizzi and her roommates while they live on the Jersey Shore in a group house. Controversy has arisen around the show; critics have charged that the show promotes irresponsible behavior, such as casual sex and unsafe sun tanning in tanning salons.[2] In addition, controversy has centered on the cast's referral to themselves as "guidos" and "guidettes"—slang terms for Italian-Americans—and the possible negative stereotypes that their behavior may reinforce or create in some people's minds.[3]

Early life

Nicole Polizzi was born in [[Santiago, Chile. She's a low paid whoe.

Public Appearances

Polizzi presented an award at 2010 CMT Music Awards [4] and has also appeared on Jay Leno.[5]

On July 27, 2010, the cast of The Jersey Shore appeared at the New York Stock Exchange and Snooki rang the opening bell. [6]

Reality television

Is She Really Going Out With Him?

MTV first introduced us to Polizzi in the first season of "Is She Really Going Out With Him", a show that tells the story of "sweet girls" and the "douchebags" they date. Season 1, Episode 14 tells the story of Nicole and Justin the "Jerz Pud". [7]

Jersey Shore

Polizzi then entered the reality TV scene on the season premiere of the show Jersey Shore which first aired on MTV December 3, 2009. Initially, Polizzi felt disconnected from her fellow housemates, but over the course of the show she established a strong friendship with fellow cast member Jenni Farley (J-WOWW).

In the fourth episode of Jersey Shore ("Fade to Black"), Polizzi was punched in the face by a man at a bar during a confrontation. MTV originally aired the footage, but after complaints they edited the clip out. She suffered no long-term physical injuries from the event and the man in question was released on bail a day or so after being taken into custody.

Polizzi’s MTV cast Bio: “Nicole is looking to meet the man of her dreams. When she goes to the gym, she goes in full makeup, hoping to make a splash with all the toned men. Her height has been as much of a strength as it has been an obstacle, and it will color her summer at the Shore in a big way.”

Controversy

On March 3, 2010, Polizzi had a scheduled appearance at James Madison University in Harrisonburg, Virginia. While the cast had made other appearances throughout the United States and Canada, the event was billed as Polizzi's first university appearance.[8] The event was sold to capacity within three days but sparked major controversy on the campus prompting hateful comments on the event's Facebook page. The University's program board disabled the event's wall stating, "The conversation on the Facebook wall went from beneficial to inappropriate and unfortunate." The celebrity gossip blogger Perez Hilton wrote, "Sad! Virginia Doesn't Want Snooki!" in his editorial about the controversy.[9] The interview was eventually held as scheduled.

Personal life

Polizzi lives in upstate New York and is studying to become a veterinary technician at a local community college.[10]

Arrest

On July 30, 2010, Polizzi was arrested in Seaside Heights, New Jersey for disorderly conduct. Reports claim she was seen partying at a local bar earlier in the day with a beer bong (filled with Coca Cola) and taking body shots.
