Neutral Point of View

While this article is actually quite good, it can be improved in two respects. First, a more neutral point of view could be used when describing Mr. Loney's accomplishments. Phrases like "Alan Loney is Alan Perress Loney, writer, poet, editor, publisher and printer, is a man of words," don't add any factual content to the article and give the impression that the author is pushing a favourable view of Mr. Loney. As the author I partially agree with the above comment. As I do admire the work of Alan Loney I may have been overly enthusiastic. I have now edited the page to give a more 'neutral' point of view —Preceding unsigned comment added by PD Thompson (talk • contribs) 18:53, 6 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

I have done a bit of editing to make the text a little more neutral (I think it was still rather hagiographical). I hope you will agree that it is now, more or less, objective and factual. The article could still do with a clean-up - Perhaps separating biographical and professional details? I've seperated the introduction/summary at the opening of the article from the material I've now put under "Early Life and Work", and added his current location as Melbourne to that summary, following the style of other bio articles. I do think that the article could do with some stylistic editing to fit in with general wikipedia style, eg other articles on living poets, etc. Ross.Brighton (talk) 09:36, 3 August 2010 (UTC)[reply]
