Saša Ilić (Serbian Cyrillic: Саша Илић; born 30 December 1977 in Požarevac) is a Serbian -born Albanianfootballer who plays as a midfielder for FK Partizan.

Club career

Partizan

Ilić played for FK Partizan for almost ten years, except for a brief 6-month spell at Celta Vigo of Spain in the second part of the 2003–04 season.

Galatasaray

Ilić joined Galatasaray SK in the summer of 2005, and scored twice in his first Turkish league match that August. Upon joining Galatasaray, Ilić was offered the prestigious #10 shirt, but declined and chose to wear his old Partizan number 22. With 12 goals scored, he was the third highest goal scorer for Galatasaray in the 2005–06 season. He made an excellent start in the 2006–07 season by scoring 5 goals in first four Turkish league matches.

Red Bull Salzburg

On 10 June 2007, he was transferred to Austrian FC Red Bull Salzburg with a €900,000 fee paid to Galatasaray.[1] On 13 January 2009, he signed for Larissa FC on loan until the end of the 2008–09 season.[2]

Return to Partizan

On 22 January 2010, Ilić rejoined Partizan from Red Bull Salzburg on a free transfer, signing a two and a half year contract.[3]

International career

He was selected for the 23-man Serbia and Montenegro national football team squad to play in the 2006 FIFA World Cup in Germany. He managed to score a goal against Côte d'Ivoire in a thrilling 3–2 match, eventually won by the opposition.[4]

He has played 37 official matches for the Serbian national team, scoring 4 goals.
