Not on DVD nor will it ever be on DVD, too many legal issues that would have to be taken care of before hand, i.e. an agreement with Michael Jackson's estate on royalities for using his name and likeness which is most likely trademarked etc... Revision as of 05:29, 29 August 2010

What about adding an external link to Captain EO movie information and with pictures of the main characters.

And then there's Captain Eeyore...but that's a whole other story. (205.250.167.76 22:08, 25 March 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Captaineo poster.jpg

Image:Captaineo poster.jpg is being used on this article. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in this Wikipedia article constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale. Using one of the templates at Wikipedia:Fair use rationale guideline is an easy way to insure that your image is in compliance with Wikipedia policy, but remember that you must complete the template. Do not simply insert a blank template on an image page.

If there is other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on the other images used on this page. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation can be deleted one week after being tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.

Reason for closure

Did the closure of this attraction have anything to do with Michael Jackson's legal troubles? --Darth Borehd (talk) 02:09, 25 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Un-known. Though interestingly it survived in Paris until 1998, and France is the place where Jackson's popularity was least effected by his child molestation allegations in 1993. It was at an American Disneyland in 1997 though, and Disneyland Tokyo in 1996 and the trouble was all cleared up in 1994. Obviously Jackson's popularity decline had an impact on the popularity of the attraction (probably) but this was a significant time later. Some things just y'know, run their course. I did notice the Epcot one closed in 1994; that was possibly related since it was nearer the time. (The Elfoid (talk) 22:24, 26 December 2007 (UTC))[reply]

Pulled from YouTube

The video seems to have been pulled from YouTube... it doesn't come up in a search; There are other sites linking to a YouTube video which says "this video is no longer available" when the YouTube Play button is clicked.--Bobbozzo (talk) 06:02, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Probably because it is a copyrighted film. --blm07 11:53, 20 January 2008 (UTC)[reply]

What was on television?

I distinctly remember advertisements being shown on the ABC television network at some point in the 1980s advertising a Captain EO television special on The Wonderful World of Disney or as some other Disney television program. The television special was advertised simply as Captain EO. I was under the impression that a companion film of some sort was broadcast, possibly to accompany the opening of the attraction at EPCOT. I missed the program and never saw it. I don't know if it ever re-aired. Are there any television historians out there who might be able to fill in the details? There was a special behind the scenes show for Captain Eo, though I don't know where or when it aired. The Captain Eo film itself in full screen was shown on MTV at one point. --blm07 03:52, 30 May 2008 (UTC)[reply]

documentary?

Why does the entry speak of it being a documentary? It is a science fiction story. Dgabbard (talk) 17:56, 2 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]
