Early life and education

Jay Hudson grew up in Livonia, MI. He attended Specs Howard School of Media Arts in 2003, after attending Schoolcraft College[1] for two years.

Career

Jay started off working at WRIF (101.1 FM) in 2002. He continued working there until 2006. During that time starting in 2004, he did weekend shifts for WKQZ (Z93 in Saginaw, MI). In 2006, He was hired at 89X in Windsor, ON.

He’s currently the on air DJ from 7PM – 11PM, Monday-Friday. He also does the 89X Homeboy Show (Sunday’s at 10PM), promoting local music in the area. Jay Hudson also serves as Music Director for 89X. His popular show feature "The 89X People's Choice" has helped break bands such as A Day to Remember, Richy Nix, I See Stars, Avenged Sevenfold, We Came as Romans, Escape the Fate, Innerpartysystem and more.

He was voted "Best DJ in Detroit" for two years in a row (2009 and 2010) by the popular Michigan paper, Real Detroit Weekly. In 2008 he was also nominated for Music Director of the year in R&R (magazine).
