Aakrosh is an upcoming action-thriller film directed by Priyadarshan. The film has Ajay Devgn, Akshaye Khanna, Bipasha Basu, Paresh Rawal and Reema Sen in lead roles. The movie has been produced by Kumar Mangat Pathak under the banner of Big Screen Entertainer and is slated for release on 15 October 2010. The soundtrack of the film has been composed by Pritam and the lyricist is Irshad Kamil.[1] This film is delayed a couple of times and now slated for Oct 15 Release.

The cinematography has been done by Thiru, the production design has been handled by Sabu Cyril and editing by Arun Kumar. Tyag Rajan and R.P Yadav have arranged the action sequences of the film.

Synopsis

The film revolves around a lower cast guy who had gone along with his 2 friends to a village - Jhanjhar in Bihar, his native place, to watch Ramleela. This 3 students of Delhi University go missing in the dusty village. In the previous 3 months there was no clue where the young students have vanished. Media and student movements all over Bihar takes a pivotal step for getting hint of these students, its then government appoint two CBI officers Pratap Kumar and Siddhant Chaturvedi and find out the truth under it. A person residing in Bihar himself and, Pratap understands the intricacies of race relations in small towns like Jhanjhar. Pratap tries to use his charm and smartness to crack investigation whereas Siddhant has very no non-sense, direct approach investigation. It's simply a clash of personalities and ideoligies.

Investigating in Jhanjhar becomes tough task for these officers as the local police force headed by Bhuma Ram with the help of local MP's and landlords run a major branch of Shool Sena. At the same time the two officers cannot break the ice with local Low Cast Community, due to years of fear instilled in them by regular and highly planed Shool Sena attacks. Roshni (daughter of the most powerful and richest person of the village) acts as a key element to reveal certain realities and give a new direction to the investigation.

Soon the effect of their investigation cause mayhem in the village - Jhanjhar, with riots, burning of houses and killing of peasents in broad daylight. Slowli Pratap with Siddhant's help starts cracking the case by exerting his influence upon Geeta (a victim of the same inhuminity), who acts as a final key to the investigation.

A dalit himself, Pratap understands the intricacies of race relations in small towns like Jhanjhar. He has a very subtle approach to the investigation as he charms and cajoles his way though the scared, tight-lipped residents of this dusty district. He is a strong headed guy and leaving his sufferings behind his basic motive lies in not letting others go through the same. He believes in the fact that if things don't not work out in straight manner there is no harm in using other ways.

Siddhant has risen high in the CBI hierarchy through an idealistic adherence to protocol. He has a very no-nonsense direct approach with a 'copy book' style of investigation. His straight forward and direct approach towards all the situations is a characteristics differs him from Pratap. His way of dealing is very principled and doing things out of the box doesn't exit in his system.

Geeta born in a well-to-do family leads a good and happy life. Her transition from a girl to women changes her life drastically. Dillema of her love and emotions lands her into the hands of a brutal guy, who takes away even her individuality from her. Traumatized by the inhuman activities happening around her, she chooses to be indifferent from the world. For years she has been a silent witness as well as a subject to her husbands ruthless atrocities.

Daughter of the most richest and powerful person of the village. Being unaware of the consequences the soft-hearted girl her heart to a lower cast boy and in turn became the initiation in the biggest investigation of the village, which kick-starts the story. Trapped in the complicacy of love and hatred she becomes one of the key elements to wipe out the inhuman crime from the village.

SP of Jhanjhar district police. A sweet talking and corrupt police officer, full of disgust and hatred for members of lower caste. He misuses his power to the fullest to do everything out of the rule book.
